For centuries, royalty and private guests have been entertained in the Great Hall. With Latin inscriptions on the ceiling beams and a wealth of artifacts dating back to
1200, this room exudes grandeur.
Civil ceremonies and civil partnerships take place in the medieval Great Hall, accommodating up to 100 guests. Whether you wish to marry in the height of the summer
or with the roaring log fire in the winter, this historic room provides a truly memorable experience.
The Great Hall can seat up to 60 guests for a wedding
breakfast.

St Leonard’s Church Nestled just below the Castle walls is the parish church of Rockingham. With large gothic-style windows and
marble memorials, St Leonard’s church is ideal for a wedding service or blessing.

Registrar’s Meeting Room The Panel Room, with beautifully panelled walls adorned with artworks, is the usual setting for the Registrar’s to have a formal meeting with the bride and groom. Wedding Reception Drinks Large enough to accommodate a drinks reception, this room lends itself to a ‘toasting of the bride and groom’ immediately after the wedding ceremony, especially in the winter months.

In glorious weather, you will find it hard to surpass the fantastic views from the Terrace Lawn across the Welland Valley. This is an ideal area to toast to the bride and groom and to launch the celebrations. You are also welcome to use the Courtyard Terrace, the Cross Garden and the Rose Garden for drinks receptions.

Walker’s House Built in 1655, within the ancient walls as a private dwelling for the Watson family during the restoration of the Castle after the Civil War, Walker’s House is our wedding reception venue. The original Tudor staircase, family portraits, elegant mullioned windows and open fires offer unique appeal. Comprising three floors, the main dining area is on the ground floor. Walker’s House can accommodate 90 guests using rectangular tables or 80 guests using round tables for a wedding breakfast. For the evening, all three floors can be used to accommodate up to 120 guests. The dance floor and bar area are on the lower floor known as the undercroft, and the upper floor has two rooms, which can be used as you please. Bespoke catering, to meet the most exacting of standards, is managed by Sarah Rivett of Rutland Gourmet and covers a range of styles and pricing. Evening only dance marquee - £750 site hire fee For weddings requiring a larger after ceremony party, i.e. a guest number over 120, you would need to incorporate a marquee on the Courtyard Lawn.
