The Scheidt family escapes

the war in Europe, landing in

the U.S. where they

establish American Roland

Food Corp. and begin

importing hard-to-find

European & Asian products.

The Company is founded by

Bruno and Suzanne Scheidt

in France after fleeing their

home in Nazi occupied

Germany.

Charlie Scheidt, son of

Bruno and Suzanne, takes

over leadership of the

Company, moving into

foodservice as chefs and

restaurant operators seek

specialty ingredients.

Roland Foods

continues to expand

into China, the U.A.E.

and South America.

Roland Foods becomes

one of the first importers

to computerize its

business. The Company

begins exporting food

to Central America and

the Caribbean.

Rolandfood.com launches

while the company

outgrows warehouse

facilities three times. The

Company expands to its

truckloads.• An average of 23,000 cases are picked and shipped daily, a very

flexible system that gives customers maximum freedom in ordering (i.e., a minimum of one case).

• Conveniently located 35 miles from Port of Newark.• Total square footage: 252,000

Ambient Storage: 230,000 sq. ft. / 23,244 pallet positions Cooler Storage: 22,000 sq. ft. / 3,108 pallet positions

WAREHOUSE TECHNOLOGY• Red Prairie integrated warehouse management system.

• Picking and inventory functions are performed on truck-mounted LXE (barcode scanning) terminals or handheld RF terminals, in real time.

• All new inventory is issued a unique barcode to streamline picking and shipping and monitor inventory levels.

• The entire warehouse is centrally monitored by Honeywell security systems.
