Want to Change the World –
--- be An Engineer
. ROLE OF ENGINEERS IN SOCIETIES, INDUSTRIES, WORLD.gieers
ENGINEERS
Engineers are key figures in the material progress of the world. A
world-class engineer, regardless of the job he is engaged in, is always
considered an asset to the nation and the society; as it is he who makes
a reality of the potential value of science by translating scientific
knowledge into tools, resources, energy, and labor to bring science into
the service of the country.
The work of engineers forms the link between scientific discoveries and
their subsequent applications to human needs and quality of life
Engineering Ethics is the set of rules and guidelines that engineers adhere
to as a moral obligation to their profession and to the world. Engineering
is a professional career that impact lives. When ethics is not followed,
disaster often occurs; these disasters not only include huge monetary costs
and environmental impacts, but also often result in the loss of human life.
Engineering Ethics applies to every engineer and is very important.
Engineering Ethics
In the professional world, ethical engineering problems come
up in many cases. One of these includes the case of a
professional using someone else’s work that is published in the
widespread market of publication. Another is the case of a
professional using someone else’s work that is not published
yet and stealing their idea. Engineers who have good
engineering ethics often have a good sense of the value of life.
They don’t hesitate to admit that they made a mistake
because they know that the cost of not owning up to your
mistakes can have disastrous consequences. It might even
cost a human life.

Why is Engineering Important?
Engineering is important, because they are basically the
designers of things. Engineers design airplanes, cars, travel
systems (such as train rails), public works systems, they help
with city planning, they help to plan roads and bridges, and
they help to design plants. Without Engineers, many systems
would fail or would not run efficiently.

Engineer represent bridge between science and society that is essential
for sustainable development.
• It has always the role of engineers to create and facilitate the
implementation of technology that are responsive to societies needs.
• Engineers must support development that is
environmentally ,socially economical sustainable.
Role of engineers in society
Engineers develops our society, they design and build an
infrastructure that ensures high rigidity and enhances the
life of people examples - schools, colleges, bridges, water
supply, drainage system, sewage system and many more .
They provide transportation system. Also provide reliable
and safe structures which resists the effect of natural
calamities like floods, earthquake etc.

What Engineers Do?
• Solving the problems by Applying Knowledge.
• Optimizing design to minimize cost and enhance efficiency.
• To predict the problems and find solutions before problem is faced.
• To imagine and think new and creative way of doing things.
Role of Engineers in Globalized Economy.
• Compete the world in Cost & Quality and retain domestic Market.
• Innovate New Process for domestic & Global Market.
• Innovate New Products for Global Market.
• Capitalize on Opportunities thrown open by Global Economy.
• Innovate New Services for Global Market.
Engineering work is divided in different streams . Different engineering branches have different roles to play.
Role of Civil Engineers…
They design, oversee construction and oversee maintenance of… Highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, dams, reservoirs, oil platforms, pipelines.
The work of civil engineers is among the most visible and the most awe-inspiring !!
This is one of the oldest branches of engineering. Civil engineers work on large-scale projects like road, rail, bridge and oil rig construction. Often employed by consulting firms, they plan and oversee projects; or work for contracting firms, and see that work is done according to client specifications.
Management skills, teamwork and communication skills are particularly important because of the large-scale nature of much of the work that they do.
Civil Engineering…
Civil Engineering…Career paths could lead them into working for multi-national construction corporations, local companies, government agencies, or the military.

Electronics Engineers…Electronics and Communication …Electronics Tele Communication …• The electronic gadgets and equipments used in entertainment, media, hospitals, homes and industries owe their origin to the electronics engineers who play an important role in their designing, fabrication, maintenance, supervision and manufacturing.
• These engineers work with microprocessors, fiber optics and in telecommunication systems like television, radio and telephone. They are helpful in providing new solutions to practical problems.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS…
The activities and pursuits of electrical engineers are extremely diversified.
They work on everything from large scale power grids covering entire countries, to microelectronics…
Electrical Engineers…Career paths may take them into computers, communications (satellites, telephone, fiber optics, antennae's…) lasers, robotics, integrated circuits, or dozens of related fields….
Electrical engineeringThe work of electrical engineers can be with power generation and supply, or with the design and manufacture of components needed by the electronics industry.
They work on designing and building robots, air conditioners, automobiles, airplanes, satellites, and artificial hearts!
They work for large manufacturing corporations, small companies, and government agencies.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING…
role of Mechanical Engineers…
Mechanical engineers do the research, design and production of any machinery with moving parts. These can mean from huge machines to micro-components of robots.
Mechanical engineers have skills needed for most other fields of engineering, thus will spend a lot of time working with engineers from other disciplines. They must have an ability and willingness to apply technological and design principles to mechanical problems.
Imagine World Without Mechanical Engineers.
Industrial Engineers…• Industrial Engineers determine the
most effective way for an organisation to use its resources (people, machines, materials, information and energy)
• This is considered a branch of mechanical engineering.
• People oriented engineers• Must know management • practices

BIO-MEDICAL ENGINEERS
The work of BIO-MEDICAL engineers is among the most exciting and groundbreaking in all of engineering !!
They design, and build prototypes of such revolutionary products as… Artificial Heart
Bio-Medical Engineering…
The most likely employers of bio-medical engineers are companies involved in the manufacture of medical equipment. These could be very large corporations or smaller, specialized companies.
Artificial organs, artificial limbs, medical imaging devices, medical diagnosis machines, and patient monitoring devices…
