mercy and to find grace for timely help.” When the Father sent the Son as our redeemer, Jesus assumed every part of our humanity, except sin. For this reason He knows and understands us, with our strengths and weaknesses, our cares and concerns. Because of His identity with us, I am able to seek Him out in my every need. He knows my deep desire to live as a faithful disciple. He knows that when I fail, He is awaiting me with open arms. El sabe que cuando fallo, El me espera con los brazos abiertos. Debido a que está tan cerca de mí, voy a El sin miedo, y El me da el don de su misericordia y gracia.
Gesù reagisce vivamente di fronte alla minaccia che pesa ancora una volta sulla sua comunità a causa dell’ambizione sfrenata di avere i primi posti, di conquistare il potere. La sua lezione è molto severa, quasi solenne. Egli propone in compenso una nuova economia sociale: quella di una comunità
senza potere la cui sola regola è servire, fino a offrire la propria vita per i fratelli, bevendo il calice fino all’ultima goccia. E per tutti i suoi membri, perché tutti sono fratelli. All’immagine del capo che comanda si oppone quella del capo che serve. Ed ecco che i capi avranno paradossalmente un solo compito: servire. Il suo prototipo è il Messia, diventato piuttosto il Figlio dell’uomo, schiavo di tutti gli schiavi, per il riscatto dei quali egli offre quello che possiede e quello che è: tutto.
