Location

Romania is located at the crossroads

of Central, Eastern, and South-eastern

Europe.

It’s neighbours are:

✓ Bulgaria to the South

✓ Ukraine to the North

✓ Hungary to the West

✓ Serbia to the Southwest

✓ Moldova to the East

✓ and has its opening to the Black Sea

about 47% of the country's land area

Romania covering 13 national parks and three

biosphere reserves.

Romania has one of the largest areas of

undisturbed forest in Europe, covering almost

27% of its territory

The Danube Delta, is the second-largest and best-preserved delta in Europe, and is a

biosphere reserve and a biodiversity World

Heritage Site

The Danube Delta is the largest continuous marshland in Europe, and supports 1,688

different plant species alone

About 50% of Europe's brown bears and 20% of

its wolves live in Romania’s forests
