Once used for protection and distinguishing the city from farmland, the Urban the 8th Wall is now burried in a dense environment transformed by modern day Rome. Buildings and roads attach to the wall claiming it as their own. Cars cut through the wall and trees grow upon it. This wall and all remain-ing walls on the site are celebrated and are a prominent feature of the museum design. New structure will touch the wall lightly to not over power its presence. New buildings adapt and transform to the carving gesture created by the walls of the canyon leading down to the river. Adopting the language of the Urban the 8th Wall, the new walls trans-form into inhabitable space.
