Romesh Mistry is a mechanical engineer
and a self taught artist. He experiments with unconven-
tional techniques of painting, like using the other side of the brush,
fingers and nails, iron scrapes, wood and PVC sheets, pouring and
splashing colours etc to create abstract expressions.
The ‘Labyrinth’ series creates an influx of lay-ers of emotions, both tranquil and chaotic that
depict life on each canvas. For this series Ro-mesh says “ I have nothing in mind except canvas
and colours when I start painting and I let my painting happen.”
‘Mother and Child’ and ‘Krishna’ are series that both em-body simplicity and minimalism in their concepts and col-
ours. The meanings are as fluid as the titles.
Playing with the computer, he found the tools and effects avail-able in it amazing. It gave him an infinite scope to soar high into the world of imagination with great pace.
Romesh continues to advance in the field of art with avenues paving way to newer exhibits and art creations. He progresses towards exploration and journeys deeper into the labyrinths of art, decoding the mystery of what is separate and yet brings together ‘Life as Art.’

I am an abstract expressionist artist. Abstract expressionism does not represent reality. I paint with different techniques and mediums. What can be achieved by Hand can not be achived digitally and what can be achieved digitally can not be achieved with Hand.
My paintings come from memory, emotion and experience. They are all hidden thoughts from subconscious and can be interpreted by individual perceptions. It lets me share my im-agination with the world. I don’t start with any kind of thought in my mind and stop when i feel its complete.
In hand paintings I use different mediums such as Acrylic, Oil and enemal paints. They all have different density and tex-tures. With the help of technology I am able to show my Im-aginations and thoughts in my paintings. My digital paint-ings are linked between the abstract spiritual realities and the real forms of the world.
I dont give any title to my paintings because i want viewers to understand or interpret my paintings through visual language and not by words. My paintings can be interpreted differently by individual perceptions and that freedom is important to my work.
