Perhaps an odd way to consider this but our 35 years of growth is proof that we’re here to stay and always working toward expanding and improving our services. Be inspired by the words of two of our founders and our long time Board Chair. Think on the stories of growth below and answer Kraig Burleson’s call to support Inner City Health Center with your resources. P P THE Webster defines legacy as “relating to, associated with or carried over from an earlier time.” When I realize that after 35 years, Inner City Health Center is our way of Leaving a Legacy. It is only because of faithful people like Kraig Burleson and all the other wonderful people who continue to serve God and love people as they carry out the mission of ICHC. Mahatma Gandhi said, “Where there is love there is life,” and that continues to be lived out everyday at Inner City Health Center. Thank you for your service and your love. Jan Williams, co-founder It is with awe and gratitude that I look back on the past 35 years during which ICHC has provided health care to some of the most vulnerable and least advantaged of Denver’s inner city. God gave us a mission to share his love and care. People like Kraig Burleson have picked up the torch and given the clinic the permanence we could never have dreamed of. Thanks to all of the ICHC staff for your dedication and hard work. Dr. Bob Williams, co-founder The past couple years Inner City Health Center and its board of directors have taken on of exciting initiatives. We have expanded our board to our largest group ever, specifically adding board members who are patients at Inner City Health Center. They have offered an important perspective on the many topics that impact Inner City Health Center. We have also embarked on a path that allows us to expand our services immediately and in the near future. We recently completed our acquisition of the Wheat Ridge Family Clinic. We have wanted to have a clinic with multiple locations and with this acquisition we can bring our services closer to those living in the western part of metro Denver. We are in the middle of an expansion to our York St. clinic as well. This will allow us to provide care to more patients. We are also planning space for additional resources and services for our community. As my period serving as the board chair is over and my time on the board is winding down I firmly believe we are headed in a great direction. We will continue to focus on caring for our patients and find ways to bring this care to more people. Todd Krapf, Board Chair 2012-2018 I IN THE S ROOF UDDIN’

The Medical team has grown to include a new pediatrician and a handful of new awesome providers. With this growth we will be able to expand our services and open our doors to accept more patients.

Our Prenatal Department provides care beyond the doctor’s or dentist’s visits. 1. We are community providers for a program called Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation. It provides free support for nursing mothers (bilingual programs), a Mother’s Milk Bank and each of prenatal patients can receive a free, portable crib or “Baby Box” modeled after a successful program started in Finland to decrease the rate of SIDS deaths in newborns. 2. We also participate in several free support programs directed by Catholic Charities-Early Headstart programs and Gabriel’s House, which provides diapers and other baby supplies to our patients. 3. Each new mom receives a new quality car seat, thanks to a grant from Bethany Lutheran Church, a gift from St. John’s Cathedral, and the Colorado State Patrol. We also receive regular diaper donations from the Diaper Depot.

If you’ve been by the Health Center lately, you know that we are kicking up a lot of dust. A new Veterans Administration Community Resource and Referral Center will occupy the building across from the clinic. Furthermore, we’ve cleared land and have launched a capital campaign for expansion of the Health Center. It’s our prayer that we will break ground in Spring 2019. These are only the most obvious of many truly extraordinary developments taking place at ICHC. More wondrous things are still unfolding. Kraig Burleson, CEO

The ICHC Dental Team is proud to have had another amazing year! From having a day dedicated to screening and developing treatment plans for veterans, to welcoming new providers, Drs. Khalid and Pesaran, we could not be more blessed. We are looking forward to serving more patients in 2019.

The most ubiquitous department, Congregational Health Ministry, ramped up their ser-vices significantly: * Basic screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and body mass index for 35 veterans at the West Metro Veteran Resource Fair and 25 free flu shots at the Bill Daniels VOA Veterans Resource Center. *revamped its CPR training, of-fering Basic Life Support training for professionals, HeartSaver, AED, and First Aid for the general public, and even training for friends and family. *continues to offer workshops, ed-ucational materials, and first-aid kits to community groups. A partnership with the Komen Foundation to offer “Pink Sundays,” unique opportunities for faith-based entities (church-es, temples, mosques, synagogues and other places of worship) to increase awareness of the importance of early detection through screening and to celebrate the lives of those who have fought against breast cancer.

Behavioral Health received an unexpected gift this year from Colorado Access. For the first time ever we have Psychiatric support with just a phone call. We can call now for a medication or diagnosis question and talk immediately with a Psychiatrist. A Medicaid patient may have a telehealth appointment from here as well.

Care Coodinator—Medicaid expansion continues to evolve in Colorado and Inner City Health Center has been blessed with an additional 3000 patients since July 1st. Along with this blessing comes the requirement of providing enhanced medical services to our patients, including population health management. We look forward to serving all our new patients and there will be more educational and other health management opportunities!

Khalid and Pesaran, we could not be more blessed. We are looking forward to serving more patients in 2019. This was unequivocally the best year ever for Jazzed. Jazzed

2018 netted $78,000+ in funds to support our vital health care for those with no or few options to secure quality medical, dental and/or counseling care. Certainly the primary intent is to raise funds so we can serve our patients. But, guests found many moments of inspiration imbedded within Jazzed 2018. Guests could “meet” many of our patients by reading their stories posted on easels around the PPA. We were also blessed to have patients in attendance as guests. New and returning chefs pleased palates: The Plimoth, The Bent Noodle, the GrowHaus, Chick fil’ a, Fuzzy’s Tacos, Georgia Boys BBQ, The Chocolate Therapist and Footers Catering. For those who wanted beverages with a little “spirit,” Hazel’s Beverage World (Boulder) provided our wine, and Cerveceria Colorado (a Denver Beer creation) provided our “brews”. Many got started on their holiday shopping at the silent auction. Those with winning bids were “silent” about for whom they were buying the item (was it for them???). Many exclaimed “Fore!” as the Colorado Group Insurance Association bestowed a large gift raised at their golf tournament,. Lakewood Country Club donated a 4 some + lunch, and there was even a Calloway Driver in the mix. We were inspired by wonderful co-chairs in ICHC Board President Stefan Wenger, outgoing ICHC Board President Todd Krapf, and delightful Sister Jennifer Gordon (with our largest sponsor, SCL/St. Joseph’s Hospital). The biggest contributors in 2018 – those who make Jazzed “Jazzed” – are Hazel Miller who created Jazzed, and Chris Daniels & the Kings (who, as Hazel describes them, “do what they do so well.”).

Colorado Gives Day 2018 & a Big Birthday - 35 Years!

Yesterday was just a mustard seed – “less than all the seeds that are on the earth”; today it has produced a tree with many branches upon which rest patients’ needs. At 35 years, Inner City Health Center is tangible proof that great things grow from small beginnings. This tree still thrives thanks to the commitment of our providers, volunteers and certainly our donors.

ICHC’s actual birthday falls on December 3rd, but we’ll officially celebrate on Colorado Gives Day, December 4th. We’re hosting an Open House on Tuesday December 4th from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Donors, potential donors, partners and volunteers, providers past and present and patients are welcome. We will have a little music and light lunch fare. Two of our founders will share their perspectives, Kraig Burleson will update on the latest growth developments and current Board Chair, Stefan Wenger, will offer inspiring words. Most importantly, we want you to give on Colorado Gives Day to Inner City Health Center, or schedule your gift for December 4th. Make it a very happy birthday! https://www.coloradogives.org/innercityhealth/overview
