These systems allow the design ofopen living and access areas to be tailored through our range of finishoptions and our specialist design tools.
REFURBISHMENTOur systems are designed to be applied to the majority of commonsubstrates found on walkways, balconies and terraces. All of oursystems are fully compatible with asphalt and concrete systems whichis recognised as the industry leaders in asphalt overlay. Theproperties of our systems allow the costs, risks, time and disruptionassociated with the removal of the existing coatings to be eliminated.
NEW BUILDWhen considering a waterproofing and surfacing system or simplysurfacing of new-build walkways, balconies and terraces, theMulberry’s knowledge and range of systems offer numerous benefitswhen compared to traditional materials.
The wide choice of systems and finish variants allow colour, textureand design to be incorporated from the outset whilst minimisingthreshold heights compared to traditional systems. Mulberry workswith various partners such as Trilfex. Their BIS insulated system allowsdesigners to incorporate warm roof insulation to comply with Part Lof the Building Regulations with a built-up thickness of the heavy dutysubstrate, waterproofing and surfacing layers above the insulation ofless than 30mm.

ELECTRONIC LEAK DETECTIONA more comprehensive survey of the roofmembrane can be undertaken usingelectronic leak detection equipment. This isundertaken on roof membranes clear ofoverlying materials to be tested for leaks. Theintegrity of the waterproof membrane will bechecked/inspected using purpose built leakdetection equipment.
The test process involves locating earthingpoints within an electrical field created on themembrane surface. In one method, theelectrical field is created by passing currentpulses through a loop of wire laid around theperimeter of the area under investigationwhich is wetted during the test. Electricalcurrent flows towards any earthing point. Thedirection of current flow is identified using apair of probes and a purpose built detectorunit. Each earthing point represents anelectrically conductive penetration throughthe waterproofing layer and is a locationwhere water ingress may occur.
