Product Overview The Rosco 2 CH/DMX LitePad Dimmers allow full light intensity control over a Rosco LitePad via two manual slide faders or DMX. Product Description The Rosco 2CH/DMX LitePad Dimmer offers simple, versatile control of the LED based Rosco LitePad luminaire, providing smooth dimming from 0% - 100% output with no change in color temperature. The compact dimmer module has two output channels of manual control via sliding faders, independently dimming two separate LitePad units or groups of units. A maximum total load of 5A can be split between the two channels. For applications where automated control via the DMX protocol is desired, simply plug the dimmer unit into a DMX chain and assign an address via digital display pad. A DMX signal present overrides any setting of the manual faders. If the DMX signal is lost, control reverts immediately to any setting of the manual fader. The 12V power to the unit is provided by the 1A, 3A or 5A transformer included with the purchase of a LitePad. Lightweight and easy to use, the 2CH/DMX LitePad Dimmer gives you complete control over your Rosco LitePad.

Operation Power Hookup: For the 2 CH/DMX LitePad Dimmer to function, an 11-15V DC power source must be plugged into the input port on the back of the unit. This port utilizes a female 2.1mm x 5.5 mm DC barrel connector. It is recommend that a Rosco LitePad transformer or battery holder is used as the power source. See the options below: North American Use: LitePad 5 Amp North Amer. Transformer 290635050120 LitePad 3 Amp North Amer. Transformer 290635030120 LitePad 1 Amp North Amer. A third party power supply can be used to power the 2 CH/DMX LitePad Dimmer, but it must provide a steady current between 11V and 15V.

Connecting LitePads to Dimmer:

The two outputs on the dimmer have a combined rating for 5 Amps max. For example, there can be a load of 2 amps on one output and 3 amps on the other. There CANNOT be a load of 3 Amps on one output and 3 Amps on the other as this combined amperage of 6 Amps exceeds the 5 Amp rating. Please use the Power Consumption chart on the previous page to manage your power loads. The 2 CH/DMX LitePad Dimmer can independently control two separate LitePads or two groups of LitePads via Ouput 1 and Ouput 2. These outputs use a male 2.1 mm x 5.5 mm DC barrel connector. LitePads can be grouped by using the LitePad “Y” Splitter or the LitePad 4 Way Spider Splitter: LitePad “Y” Splitter 290637000000 LitePad 4 Way Spider Splitter 290637500000 With a power source plugged into the Input and a LitePad(s) plugged into one or both of the outputs, the dimmer is ready for use.

Manual Operation: Fader 1 controls the intensity of the LitePad attached to Output 1 and Fader 2 controls Output 2. The fader positioned at the “0” position corresponds with a 0% output on light. The fader positioned at the “10” position signifies 100% output of light. The two bump buttons below the faders can instantly turn the LitePad on or off. This feature allows the user to turn the LitePad off or on without have to move the fader. DMX Operation: Once a DMX cable is plugged in the DMX Input on the back of the dimmer, the unit can be fully controlled using two DMX channels. NOTE: When a DMX cable is plugged in to the unit and it is receiving a DMX signal, the manual faders are bypassed and will not work. To set the DMX channel of the dimmer, use the buttons and LED display on the front of the unit. To alter the address, press the BLUE or BLACK button once to increment/ decrement the value; hold down the BLUE or BLACK for fast increments/ decrements of the value. The DMX address can be set in the range of 1 – 511 (as the dimmer takes 2 channels of DMX). Once you have selected the desired channel, press the RED button to save the setting. The channel you have selected will control the LitePad(s) in Output 1 and the channel above your selection will control the LitePad(s) in Output 2. There is a DMX Pass Through on the back of the unit for continuation of your DMX chain.

Troubleshooting The LED display aids in the troubleshooting of the system. These indicators are located on back panel of each unit.

The first vertical bar indicates that there is power (11-15V DC) at the unit. The second vertical bar indicates that there is data (DMX) at the unit. The horizontal bars indicate the data (DMX) signal level at the unit. Note: The signal level changes during normal operation of the unit. 1st bar = 25%, 2nd bar = 50%, and 3rd bar = 75%. Note: A high percentage of problems are a direct result of poor cabling, corrupt DMX control signals, and lack of suitable signal termination.
