Our Instrumental Music School Services students learning the Guitar have started their lessons with Mr Sutherland on Friday mornings before school. guitar students, don’t forget to bring your guitar, foot stool and lesson books. Also, don’t forget to practise during the week. You need to do 30 minutes of practice a day.
Learning music makes you clever and more intelligent, so everyone, take your Music lessons seriously whether they involve guitar, recorder or singing.
You will grow your ability to do other things like hand skills, awareness of the world around you and persistence.
Mrs Weldon MUSIC SPECIALIST
E4 & E5 rotated through five activities in our new Science Lab in
the STEM Hub. They are leaning how the five senses help us to
understand and investigate the world around us.
Our Year 4 - 6 students went to the STEM Hub to join a live webinar with students from different schools around the state. It was hosted by the Education Department WA and was called “Your digital super power Using the 4Rs to create positive online communities”.
The Safer Internet Day presentation encouraged students to recognise the personal and social capabilities that are important for creating positive online environments. Students explored skills including communicating with respect, developing resilience, using reasoning, and choosing to act responsibly.
Dental Health Services
School Dental Screening
The School Dental Service will be
conducting dental screening sessions of
Pre-Primary, Years 3 and 6 students at your school this
term. It is a requirement of the Health Act to screen
children in these years that are enrolled in the School
Dental Service.
The screening is a check of the growth and development of
the jaws and teeth only. The screening is NOT a detailed
examination and an appointment for check-ups will be
issued in due course.
Congratulations to our Student Leaders, who capably ran our first assembly for the year in Week 2. Our 2019 Student Leaders are Yamin, Nathan, Genaya, Taleesha and Alkira from Roseworth PS. They are joined by Steve and Caylen from the ESC (one semester each) to form our Student Leadership group. The Student Leaders have been doing their jobs responsibly and efficiently and it has been great to see them using their initiative and helping out around the school. Our 2019 Faction Captains were announced and presented with their badges at our assembly. The Faction Captains are Acacia – Rhiyanna and Zoe, Banksia – Jennifer and
Narjes and Wisteria – Shaneekqua and Tyler. Mrs Keunen is currently training them to do their jobs and they have been helping her set up for sport and fitness every day.
Thank you to the Horn family who came in on a Saturday morning to assist me with cementing in recycled bed heads to form bays for our Loose Parts Play Area. We now have some well-defined areas for our recycled materials (sticks, poly pipes and lengths of wood). We hope to expand the Loose Parts Play Area this year and it is great to see our students enjoying this creative play space within the school. There are lots of wonderful positives coming from this initiative and the students’ creations are amazing. Sue Brockman DEPUTY PRINCIPAL
