Rotaract Club Manila Metro
ROTARACT is an international program for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who believe they can make a difference. ROTARACT clubs provide an opportu-nity for young adults to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their commu-nities and to promote better relations be-tween all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
ROTARACT is a program of ROTARY INTERNATIONAL. Rotaract Clubs work under the guidance of their local Rotary Club, and take their name from a combination of the words Rotary and ac-tion. The first officially chartered Rotaract Club was in North Charlotte, North Caro-lina, in 1968, but clubs of young people associated in service with local Rotary Clubs had existed for several years in In-dia and Europe.
Today, there are more than 150,000 mem-bers in more than 6,500 Rotaract Clubs around the world. Clubs draw members from the community or are organized as an extracurricular activity for college stu-dents. Rotaract Clubs conduct formal meetings, usually every two weeks, which feature speakers, tours of local businesses, cultural activities, discussions, and visits to other clubs.

What is ROTARACT?
Rotaractors utilize weekends for service project work, social events, and profes-sional and leadership development work-shops.
Every Rotaract Club is part of a district Rotaract organization, run by elected repre-sentatives with support from sponsoring Rotarians. The district organization plans regional conferences, develops regional projects, holds club leadership training programs, and sponsors special events to strengthen the bond among clubs.
Rotaract has the following goals: ● To develop professional and leadership skills ● To emphasize respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual
● To recognize the dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportuni-ties to serve ● To recognize, practice, and promote ethical standards as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities ● To develop knowledge and under-standing of the needs, problems, and opportunities in the community and worldwide ● To provide opportunities for per-sonal and group activities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill toward all people. Rotaract Clubs in the Philippines has also proven its competitiveness as the Philippines bagged the Rotary Interna-tional Most Outstanding Project in the Asia Pacific Region for three consecu-tive years. Truly, Rotaract Clubs work hand in hand with their sponsoring Rotary Clubs and other organizations to bet-ter uphold international understanding, raise social awareness, encourage the majority to lend a helping hand and put into practice Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” (Source: http://rotary.org/en/MediaAndNews/N e w s l e t t e r s / I n t e r a c t i v e / P a g e s / 2 0 0 9 0 3 /DidYouKnow.aspx)

Under ONE Roof – the yellow “ROOF.” The roof of regalities, a celebration of genuine friendship and of truthful service brought about by acceptance, understanding and passion to serve. A roof which houses both our fears and our motivations even-handed by our solidarity, meekness, sincerity and togetherness. Under one roof stays a family of service.

I – the blue “M” symbolizes every individual and members of the club. A livid blue that suggests being af-fected with fear, discomfort and low spirit; hence, representing personal struggles, unlikely circumstances and fear as experienced by everyone. No one is exempted from experiencing hardships and trials, but not everyone struggles and succeeds like a Rotarac-tor does.
Rotaract – the red “M” symbolizes Rotaract Club. A fierce red suggest-ing courage, vigor, optimism, and fearlessness which uplifts us from our personal struggles; therefore, enabling the club to offer service at its best. It also represents how Rota-ract establish camaraderie within our club.
The Rotaract Club of Manila Metro’s
logo symbolizes the utmost importance
of every individual in the club.
Each one’s character, field of expertise, talents, potentialities and personal
struggles are carefully
entwined in order to establish
harmony despite differences and

epitomizing the true essence of
understanding, sharing and

Projects and activities of a Rotaract Club revolve around the four avenues of service namely: Club Service, International Service, Professional Service and Community Service. For the past ten years, the Rotaract Club of Manila Metro spearheaded valuable projects that respond to these four avenues.
CLUB SERVICE
Each of our members plays an essential role in the promotion of
the club’s advocacies. Our members are highly important
for the development and growth of the club. Thus, we
offer them activities that would help maximize their full
potentialities. Aside from regular meetings, we also have
fellowships, seminars and trainings.
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
Recognizing that CHANGE
would be more possible if people will act and think collectively, we collaborate and unite with
other Rotaract Clubs to execute projects that would uphold
international understanding and awareness. Together with our sister clubs and partners in
service, we constantly think of better ways to bring joy and hope
to our fellowmen.
“ Rotaract is totally having fun...I believe it is the greatest foundation of our club and any other club or organization; that its members carry out solidarity to one another. ” -- Romel A. Bautista, Director for Club Service, RY 2008-2009
“ I realized that material thing is not the only thing that will make us happy. But smile is the most powerful thing that you can give to anyone…”
- Rotaract Manila Metro Changemaker ‘09 Volunteer
Community Service
In this challenging time, where almost everyone experience difficulties,
isn’t it amazing if each one of us could lighten and brighten someone else’s life?
It isn’t about the amount of help you bring but it’s about giving
and sharing a heartfelt touch, a warm smile, a sincere embrace and
a little of your time. Those simple things could already spark
a million of hope and happiness to a wounded heart and
a desperate soul. We provide meaningful projects that bring everlasting bliss and positive
change to our fellowmen.
Professional Service
We understand the importance of individuality, the essence of one’s
growth in order to become completely aware of his surroundings.
To answer that need, we provide an avenue for our members and
non-members to exercise and polish their craft.
An avenue where they could realize and recognize their strengths and
weaknesses…an avenue where they could be their real selves…
an avenue where they could be at their best.
" I am SO PRIVILEGED. I am SO BLESSED. I am SO LOVED. That's why I have a reason to help UNCONDITIONALLY, FREELY, UNASHAMEDLY, carrying the true intention of charity. I DON'T have room for a wasted life, a wasted youth. I am born for great things and to bring difference. And it's happening now! I can see it happening now. I can't wait for the coming best days of my life!" - Rtr. JA De Lima
