• Encourage member engagement by ensuring that every member has participated in at least one service activity and one club social activity.

• Do one or both of the following:– Hold at least one fellowship or service activity that

involves all club members and their families– Partner with a non-Rotary organization on a service

project in your community

• Emphasize Rotary’s unique commitment to vocational service in at least one of the following ways:– Start a career counseling or vocational training program and invite non-

Rotarian participants from the community to attend– Organize a discussion or workshop on maintaining high ethical standards in

the workplace and invite local non-Rotarian business leaders to attend– Sponsor a career day in which club members bring young people to their

places of business to inform them about career opportunities• Support New Generations programs in at least one of the following ways:

– Sponsor a new Rotaract or Interact club or support an existing one– Pair Rotarian mentors with Rotaractors in your community– Conduct a joint project with an Interact or Rotaract club– Sponsor a participant in a Rotary Youth Leadership Awards event– Sponsor or host at least one Youth Exchange student

Club Service

Strengthens fellowship and ensures effective functioning of the club.

•In the past, the club has done sporadic social events, but nothing consistent

•Susan Bernard has agreed to focus on Club Service•Questions for the group – How often do we want social events? Once a month? Once a quarter?

Vocational Service

Encourages Rotarians to serve others through their vocations and to practice high ethical standards. (using your vocational expertise to serve others or exemplifying the Four

Way Test in the workplace)

•To my knowledge, the Allen Rotary has not done anything in particular to emphasize Vocational Service

Vocational Service

Options given by the Presidential Citation:• Start a career counseling or vocational training

Community ServiceCovers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve

life in its community.

•We are currently participating in Coats for Boyd, honoring the Teacher of the Week, conducting the Christmas Parade, Community Grants as well as some one-time projects with Cornerstone Ranch.

•Our plans to conduct Community Service include:– Continuing Teacher of the Week, Coats for Boyd, Christmas Parade and

Community Grants– Helping with My Possibilities– Plus at least two others

International Service

Encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the globe and to promote world understanding

and peace.

•We currently support Send Hope and Kids Against Hunger

•We will continue to support Send Hope and Kids Against Hunger•Global Grants

Youth Service(formerly “New Generations Service”)

Recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities as RYLA, Rotaract and Interact, service projects, and creating international understanding with Rotary Youth Exchange.

•We are currently chartered for a Cub Scout pack based out of Evans and Kerr Elementary. We also sponsor 2 RYLA participants each year.

•We plan to continue with Pack 870 as well as our support of RYLA participants. We hope to add another level of support for the Interact Club at Allen High School.

2013 YTD

• We have held two coordinated service projects– Total of 52 participants– Over 84 hours of service

• To date, we have had 28 of 45 members participate in those projects

2013-2014 Rotary Year

• We hope to hold 6 coordinated service projects– Total of 165 participants– 380 hours of service

• We want to include all 45 members
