GOVERNOR MESSAGE
Christmas is coming, days of spirituality, of love, of the family, of the "hallacas" and
of our most beautiful traditions.
These are times of peace where the human being is reconciled with itself and with
its similar, where purposes are made to be better.
This year as in the previous votes will do to live a better world in the year 2015.
We commented that Chela and me participated in the Rotary Institute of Antigua:
Cesar, elected Governor of 4380, German, Governor-elect of 4370, Thomas Hac-
ker, my current District Instructor and Chairman of the Committee of LFR, Law-
rens RC Curaçao, Filiberto, Ruben Luna, Andres Baffigo past governors, all accom-
panied by wives and until Matthias, the son of Thomas. Venezuelan rotarians recei-
ved demonstrations of solidarity and we are proud of our presence in the Institute.
We agreed to significant joint actions that will strengthen links between the dis-
tricts of 4370 and 4380.
The topics covered were relating to the public image of Rotary that needs to be
considered as a product and therefore, spread its values and characteristics.
The Rotary Foundation and topics on membership concluded the seminar to give
way to the plenary of the rotary institute. These were extraordinary in that we
have seen the awakening of our giant Rotarian on the basis of principles, values and
commitments.
Notes of interest were: delivery to the district 4370 (Governor Simon Lucena Her-
nandez) the recognition that the Rotary Foundation awarded for having reached
the second place in the contribution to the annual fund. In the same way, post-
humous tribute was paid to past governors of the area 21-A including the beloved
Margarita Katan of 4370 and Olga Naranjo of 4380.

Continue GOVERNOR MESSAGE
It is of particular interest and welcome to announce that the next year in the month of March, (29-30 and 31) we will have
the visit of the RI president Gary Huang accompanied by his wife Corinna in the club of Aruba. Our fellow President
Lufrido Croes is coordinating and preparing the logistics for the event is perfect. We will send you timely program and
more information.
Unfortunately, we must also report and comment, the death that some killers caused to the couple Cristina and Manolo,

Brothers, rotary family, let us follow the way of peace, of good actions, of honor and commitment to all ways we have an
open heart and willing to offer affection.
We invite our fellow beings to follow us and enlighten the way to help humanity to be a little better each day. We
Rotarians we can do, what we must do!

REVIEW RECEIVED
The next two pages are to report the month of NOVEMBER ASSISTANCE congratulate clubs
SAN ANTONIO, CAFETAL, ALTO PRADO, LA LAGUNITA-EL HATILLO, being the first to do on
Friday 28 November.
We encourage club secretaries to perform this task, maximum within 5 days after the end of the
month, when the MONTHLY CHART with the received data is sent. Also we invite you to make the
report either directly to the District Secretary or through the ClubRunner.
It would be great to have information on the number of partners at the end of each month and check
for increased membership and not lose sight of this important parameter for our district.

History of The Rotary Foundation At the 1917 convention, outgoing RI President Arch C. Klumph proposed to set up an endowment “for the pur-
pose of doing good in the world.” In 1928, it was renamed The Rotary Foundation, and it became a distinct en-
tity within Rotary International.
Growth of the Foundation In 1929, the Foundation made its first gift of $500 to the International Society for Crippled Children. The or-
ganization, created by Rotarian Edgar F. “Daddy” Allen, later grew into Easter Seals.
When Rotary founder Paul Harris died in 1947, contributions began pouring in to Rotary International, and the
Paul Harris Memorial Fund was created to build the Foundation.
Evolution of Foundation programs 1947: The Foundation established its first program, Fellowships for Advance Study, later known as Ambassado-
rial Scholarships.
1965-66: Three programs were launched: Group Study Exchange, Awards for Technical Training, and Grants
for Activities in Keeping with the Objective of The Rotary Foundation, which was later called Matching Grants.
1978: Rotary introduced the Health, Hunger and Humanity (3-H) Grants. The first 3-H Grant funded a project
to immunize 6 million Philippine children against polio.
1985: The PolioPlus program was launched to eradicate polio worldwide.
1987-88: The first peace forums were held, leading to Rotary Peace Fellowships.
2013: New district, global, and packaged grants enable Rotarians around the world to respond to the world’s
greatest needs.
Since the first donation of $26.50 in 1917, the Foundation has received contributions totaling more than $1 bil-
lion.
Yousafzai, whose father is a Rotarian, shares the prize with Kailash Satyarthi, a native of India who has worked to combat the exploitation of chil-dren for financial gain, according to an announce-ment in October from the Norwegian Nobel Com-mittee.
