2.4.6 Connection of pulse input, current meter
A separate manual containing instructions about installation and operation is included with this component.
Installation without room thermostat:The cable bridge- mounted on-site - is recommended by ROTEX as otherwise problems may arise due to the cyclical circulation pump during heating operation. The DIP switch 3 (see Tab. 3-1, Chapter 3 "Start-up") must be set to "ON".
The absence of a summer switch-off on the circulation pump can be compensated for by manually switching off heating in the summer (key ) when a cable bridge is mounted.
Fig. 2-19 Connection without room thermostat*
* The cable bridge must be installed on-site before start-up.

2.5 Laying refrigerant lines
2.6 Pressure test and vacuum
• Perform pressure test with Nitrogen.– Use Nitrogen 4.0 or higher.– Maximum 40 bar.
• After leak search is complete, completely drain.• Vacuum lines.
– Pressure to be reached 1 mbar absolute.– Time: minimum 1 h.
• Check whether additional refrigerant is needed for primer filling, fill where necessary.• Open stop valve on exterior unit completely until the stop. Tighten loosely.• Reassemble valve caps.• Check whether storage tank sensor is 80 cm deep.• For bivalent installations or in connection with the ROTEX Solaris installation:
Check whether a return line temperature limiter (RLB) was installed.
• Check whether oil raise arc necessary.– Required when HPSU compact not installed on same level as external unit.– An oil raise arc must be installed for every 10 m of height difference
(Image 2-26, H = distance from one oil raise arc to another).– Oil raise arc only required in the gas line.
• Install lines with bending unit and an adequate clearance to electrical lines.
• Only solder with light nitrogen flow (hard soldering only).• Do not apply insulation to joins until after start-up (for purposes of
leakage search).• Establish flange connections and connect to the units.

3.1.3 Test run and setting of minimum flow
• Set pump level 3 of circulation pump of HPSU compact (Image 2-2, Pos. 6).• Start the system by pressing the key on the main control unit (HPR1).• Wait for the start phase.
The number "88" is displayed for approx. 30 s during the start phase on the display of the main control unit (HPR1).
The system starts an automatic test run that lasts approx. 30 min.During this test run, nothing particular is shown on the Display.
After a successful automatic test run, the system starts normal operation.
• Check minimum flow when heating circuit closed and bypass valve configured:– Minimum flow 6-8 kW HPSU compact (Image 4-3): >12 l/min– Minimum flow 11-16 kW HPSU compact (Image 4-4): >15 l/min
It is important that the water temperature does not fall below 10 °C during the test run. Otherwise the frost protection switch could be activated and the test run would not be completed.
Only when backup-heater (BUH) is installed:If the water temperature falls below 10 °C, the key must be repeatedly pressed until the symbol is displayed. This switches on the backup-heater (BUH) during the automatic test run and the water temperatures is kept above 10 °C.
If the installation has already been put into operation, the test run can also be started manually.
• Start the system by pressing the key on the main control unit (HPR1).• Press the key 4x in succession (also refer to the instruction manual).
