Since opening its doors in 1955, Rogers Associates has been known for quality special purpose equipment and precision components. We excel in the seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic and control systems into one complete turnkey package. The products we produce are most often designed by our engineering group, or at a minimum have a high level of engineering collaboration with our customers. We are vertically integrated within our manufacturing group, facilitating our ability to not only design but build a wide variety of products in-house. We have machining capabilities for both large format and small precision components. Our 65,000 square foot facility has more than 20,000 square feet dedicated to equipment build, assembly and run-off. Our capabilities include:
• Product design
• Mechanical systems design
• Electrical systems design
• Research and development
• Engineering Analysis – FEA, CFD, EMI/RFI
• Complex systems design/build
• Vertically-integrated
• Full machining capabilities
• Aerospace welding/fabrication
• Precision assembly

Corporate Capabilities Innovative Engineering
Rogers Associates has a diverse core of Engineering Professionals
with extensive background in mechanical design and analysis,
electrical systems, manufacturing systems, machining and
fabrication. They are also well versed in Computational Fluid
Dynamics and EMI/RFI analysis and mitigation. Our engineering
staff provides a tremendous support system for our
manufacturing/project engineers who plan, direct, and coordinate
the manufacturing processes for projects designed internally as
well as built to customer-provided prints. Daily reports between
the two departments allow for quick responses to issues and
concerns, for example a timely design change or dedicated
fixturing.
Our engineers and support staff have extensive experience
designing and building all types of test, manufacturing, and
assembly systems as well as precision components for a variety of
industries including aerospace, industrial equipment, automotive,
electronics, transportation, medical, consumer products, and
defense. Our designs and equipment have been used in a wide
variety of applications including:
• Spacecraft assembly, test and manipulation equipment
and tooling
• Aerospace ground handling equipment
• Large precision structures and equipment
• Vibration test fixtures
• Composite manufacturing equipment (winders,
presses, handling equipment)
• Flight hardware
• Defense products
• Test cells
• High speed dedicated machining lines
• Moving conveyor assembly systems
• Washing and cleaning equipment

PAST EXPERIENCE
Project: Fabrication of Components for
Secondary Mirror Tilt/ Tip Module
Customer: Aura – Gemini Observatory
This project included a “Design for Manufacturability”
analysis along with associated recommendations,
fabrication, and machining, testing, and precision
assembly of a series of sub-assemblies which
complete the Tilt-tip Module for the secondary mirror.
A wide variety of materials was used in this project,
including aluminum, high nickel alloys, and stainless
steels. The machining and fabrication processes
included EDM, precision milling and turning, grinding,
lapping, heat treating, precision sheet metal
fabrication and deep drawing.
This project encompassed design, construction, assembly
and testing of large, actuated tooling to be used in the
ground assembly of deployable satellite antenna systems.
Work included stiffness optimization through FEA,
identification of suitable COTS components, welding and
precision machining of large parts. Assemblies consisted of
a stand over 9 ft high and a frame approximately 12 ft x 14
ft. Precision rails gave the frame 5 ft of travel, with a
repeatability of .001”. The total assembly, over 16 ft tall, was
required to deflect .010” or less under functional loading.
Each of the (8) assemblies was tested for functionality and
subjected to proof loading and customer-specified
deflection-test loading at Rogers’ facility. Rogers fabricated
shipping / storage skids for the assemblies and arranged for
transportation of the wide-load shipments. Assistance was
provided for installation at the customer’s clean-room
facility.

PAST EXPERIENCE ROGERS ASSOCIATES MACHINE TOOL CORPORATION
This project included design,
precision welding and machining,
assembly and testing. The largest
component in the assembly was a
Double Volute, originally designed
as a casting. Rogers successfully
re-designed this component as a
two piece weldment, providing a
product with superior dimensional
and surface finish characteristics.
The pump was assembled in our
clean room and hydrostatically
tested to 750psi.
Project: J2X LOX Pump Test Rig
Customer: Jacobs ESTS Group
Project: Ares1- X Fabrication
Customer: NASA, Glenn Research Center
OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
This project involved the fabrication, inspection and shipping of
components and parts for the Ares 1 Launch Vehicle utilizing NASA
supplied designs. These components and parts, consisting of
individual structural members and complex fabricated weldments
were integrated into the Upper Stage Simulator. Process planning
was applied to each individual detail. This included an approved
documented manufacturing process plan for each detail which
includes proper material procurement, provides a detailed
manufacturing sequence, and dictates the collection of proper
item documentation. An approved welding PQR was created for
this project. Upon completion of each detail or component a one-
hundred percent ISO-9001 compliant inspection was conducted
under the guidance and direction of our quality department and
a NASA appointed quality inspector who was required to be on
site. An end item data pack was created. Rogers provided NASA-
GRC secure access to our website where all pertinent project
information was retained. Rogers’s project management staff
participated in a weekly status meeting with the NASA project
team to review schedule and areas of concern or question.
