“Modern Sampler” Finished Quilt

Many people in the group have found innovate and creative ways to finish their quilts. This pattern is for anyone still looking for suggestions on how to arrange their 12 blocks into a finished quilt top. Education Director Becky Glasby designed this fun layout to create a modern sampler.

With over 10,000 members, this group has shown amazing inspiration this year! All of us would like to give a big thank you to each of our guest designers: Mr. Domestic, Annabel Wrigley, Stephanie Soebbing, Becky Glasby, Justin Stafford, Faith Jones, Robin Gausebeck, Betty Ford-Smith, and Go-Go Kim.

The National Quilt Museum staff has worked hard to bring this program to all of you. The Block of the Month team included: Chloe Quint-Raye, Emily Hendrix, Victoria Caldwell, Becky Glasby, Heather Adair, Laura Hendrickson, Rachael Baar, and Frank Bennett.

We can’t wait to see what happens in Round 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Limited-Edition LabelMembers of the Block of the Month Club can request a custom printed limited-edition label (pictured left) once they have a finished quilt from the Round 1 (April 2018-March 2019) patterns. Labels will be offered to the first 1,000 members who register their qualifying finished quilt.

Labels measure 4.5"x6" finished size. Museum staff will begin sending labels in April. Please allow 4-6 weeks for your label to arrive.

Completed quilts must include at least one block (or a recognizable variation) of EACH of the TWELVE patterns in Round 1, some type of hand or machine quilting, and a finishing (i.e. binding).

Print-At-Home LabelAll members of the Block of the Month Club may print their own label using their preferred method, such as ink jet iron-on transfer sheets. A craft store should have several options to choose from. Be sure to follow the directions for the product you use.

Printer-friendly labels are included on page 8 (and on page 9 if your product requires artwork to be mirrored for transfer). The layouts include two labels per page for your convenience in maximizing the use of a transfer sheet. Trim along dashed line, and use the corner marks to help find the 1/4" seam allowance.
