Major Elements of Work 1) Replace the Route 146 Bridge. 2) Build a Roundabout at Route 146/Aqueduct
Road. 3) Widen Route 146 from Aqueduct Road to
Riverview Road and Intersection Improvements made at Route 146/Riverview Road.
4) Construct a Bike/Pedestrian Trail from the Mohawk-Hudson Bike/Hike Trail to the Town of Clifton Park Bike Route at Riverview Road.

Design, subsurface investigations (borings), utility relocations and associated clearing
2016 April-December Bridge construction, foundations, roundabout construction using staged construction & temporary signals, bike trail, roadway widening, traffic signals, drainage, steel erection
2017 April – November Concrete deck placement, guiderail, bridge lighting, final paving, traffic shift onto new roadway, demolition and removal of existing bridge and foundations

Traffic The Rexford Bridge and Route 146 will remain open to vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians during construction, with only minor disruptions. River navigation will be maintained during all phases of construction, except for limited, temporary restrictions during steel erection/bridge demolition.
Construction Noise/Dust Jack hammering, hoe-ramming, pile driving, blasting, bridge demolition and other noise producing activities (70 db max) limited to: 6am – 10pm & dust control measures must be in place.

Turning Lanes Center auxiliary lanes were added where possible.
Pedestrian Safety Measures Sidewalk was added from Main Street North to Riverview Road to allow crossing at activated signal.
Lighting on bridge and bike/hike trail Lighting for bridge, roadway and bike/pedestrian trail is being negotiated with Towns.
Screening/Berms/Barriers Existing berm at 1671 Balltown Road will be replaced in kind. Trees/plantings impacted by the project will be replaced.
