Where to start?

If you were interested in joining a club one of the first things you can do is go onto the badminton england website and go on the club search, where you can search for a suitable club E.g. Junior, Senior, Beginners.

At the clubs you will train under a coach, until opportunities arise where you can participate in club tournaments and county trials of your age group, depending on how well you do say if you had won quite a few tournaments in your county, you can get put forward by your coach into harder competitions such as national tournaments for example.

Funding and Facilities

Sport England is one of the main funders for participation in badminton, who fund clubs and badminton organizations.

Badminton England also funds badminton development but focus mainly on those who have proven themselves in county/regional competitions and they provide training facilities and academies for them.

National Badminton Centre (NBC) provides training courses and coaching to all badminton players of any skill level from beginners to uprising elite players. The NBC is the place that most elite players are sent to, to train for elite competitions such as world championships and the olympics.
