I would like to give you further information regarding this term’s events.
Consultation Evenings
Parents consultation meetings this term will be held on the following dates:-
Monday 9th November – 3.20pm – 6.00pmTuesday 10th November – 3.20pm – 6.00pm
Harvest Festival – Year 3/4
We would like to invite parents of Year 3/4 to come to our Harvest Festival on Thursday 22nd October at 9.15am. All donations of food (tinned food, vegetables and packet food) will go to the People’s Kitchen, Bath Lane, Newcastle, to support homeless people. Donations are welcomed into the school from 12th October.

Year 6 SATs Examinations
The end of KS2 SATs examinations and phonics test for Year 1 will take place during the week Monday 9th May to Friday 13th May 2016 and the week commencing 13th June, respectively. May I remind parents that it is essential that all Year 6 and Year 1 pupils attend on these dates.
‘Bike it Breakfast’ – Friday 16 th October
Ben Tweedie is arranging ‘Bike it Breakfast’ on Friday 16th October 2015. Parents and pupils who cycle to school on this date will receive a free breakfast! Contact the school if your child has allergies.

May I remind pupils not to ride their cycles on the school grounds for health and safety reasons. Thanks for your support in this matter.

Every child has the right to the best possible health.
Medical Advice
Please could you inform a member of staff if your child’s medical needs change.
All medication, that is to be taken four times a day, must be prescribed by the doctor. Can you please ensure that the prescription has a label on. A form must be completed and signed.
If your child is allergic to plasters or you do not wish for us to use them, please contact the school or inform a member of staff.
Please ensure all medication which may be needed in school is returned after the holidays.
Please be aware, we do have children with nut allergies, so please refrain from sending nuts with your child to school.

Important Information for parents about taking photographs and videos
Under the Data Protection Act (1998), parents are entitled to take photographs/videos of their own children at school events.
We would like to kindly remind parents that they will need to obtain permission (from parents/carers) to include any other children in photographs or video if they intend to upload these on social networking sites such as Facebook.

The annual Christmas Concerts will be held on the following dates;
Foundation Stage - Friday 4th December at 2pm(Nursery and Reception)
KS1 (Year 1/2) - Thursday 10th December at 9.30am
KS2 (Year 3/4) - Carol Service on Wednesday 9th Decemberat 9.30am/Church Visit – Tuesday 15th December
at 1.30pm
KS2 (Year 5) - Tuesday 8th December at 1.30pm
KS2 (Year 6) - Tuesday 8th December at 6pm
For the evening performance for year 5 and 6, we ask that all pupils return to school by 5.30pm

Children in Need - Friday 13th November
We are celebrating Children in Need Day on Friday 13th November. This is a non- uniform day and children can make a donation to Children in Need.
Operation Christmas Child
Pupils will be asked to bring a shoebox to school, filled with items which will be of use to a child from Eastern Europe.
We have asked for our boxes to be collected on Monday 16th November. If you wish to participate, please return all boxes by this date. All boxes will be checked before being sent to Europe.
Further details will follow.
Christmas Dinner
The school Christmas dinner will take place on Thursday 10th December. Please return the slip below if you want your child to have a Christmas dinner whether they are entitled to the universal infant free meal or not.

Welcome Back Cake Day – 18th September 2015Many thanks to all who attended the Welcome Back Cake Day. A grand total of £209 was raised, which will go towards funding special projects for the school. Well done to all and extra thanks to all who volunteered to help on the day.
