Mosaic workshop – come and help Elaine Edge with this year’s mosaic and earn the chance to win an original artwork for your school! Artreach studios – have a go at block printing with Kate Jerry and Colette Gambell. Adults and children will be welcome to create their own greeting cards using a lovely variety of Manx images - perfect for Tynwald Day! Crochet workshops – throughout the day, Grainney Sheard will be teaching small groups of beginners to crochet. Also in the Bunscoill IOM Model Railway Manx National Heritage ‘On The Road’ – come and learn about the Isle of Man in July 1916. Hear more about Manx involvement in the Battle of the Somme, the Tynwald Day revolt and life on the Home Front. FREE demonstrations and weapon displays throughout the day Enjoy the atmosphere of a bustling Viking village and learn about an ancient way of life that had such an impact on our Island’s history. Enter via either of the walkways behind the Manx Tent. The One World Centre’s Global Village 10:00 - 16:00 Arboretum ..................................................... Come and celebrate the Isle of Man’s international connections on Manx National Day at the One World Centre’s Global Village. Enjoy fun activities, delicious food, songs, dance and music from around the world. Learn about the positive impacts Manx charities are having in developing countries and how we can all help create a more sustainable future for everyone. Ruth and Sarah will be performing with multi-instrumentalist David Kilgallon. 15:00 – 15:45 Claasagh, the Manx harpers – Mera Royle and Rachel Hair. 16:00 – 16:30 Owen and Ailish Williams – Manx music and dance from two members of Perree Bane. 16:30 – 17:00 Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band. 18:00 – 19:00 Regal Singers. 20:00 – 21:00 Manx Tent 10:00 - 16:30 ....................................................... Biosphere Isle of Man – we are the first entire country in the world to receive this prestigious endorsement from UNESCO. Come and find out all about this exciting project.
