LEADERSHIP
Our leadership and management support (found in courses
throughout this brochure) helps to support staff with effective tools to become more confident when leading and managing themselves, staff,
parents/carers and Governors.
The specialist advice and support provides a major contribution to schools responsibilities within the Ofsted guidance on leadership and management.
Leadership and management is an integral part to our school improvement strategy for schools.
The comprehensive training and support that forms a part of this professional development programme is aimed at all leaders across the school workforce. This includes senior leadership teams, Governors, school business managers and all other key staff involved in leadership and management.
This support helps to enable leaders to develop their skills, knowledge and expertise in managing and leading the school workforce. We do this through courses and one to one support.

The sessions are delivered by experienced and outstanding practitioners, and the topics covered ensure that NQTs have the opportunity to develop the skills they gained from training, whilst reflecting on the Teachers’ Standards throughout the year. Most sessions of the
programme are offered in the morning and repeated in the afternoon. Experience has shown that having the
opportunity to attend regular meetings at the Professional Development Centre (PDC) supports NQTs in
building supportive relationships and networks, as well as broadening their skills and bank of
resources to promote their development towards successful completion of induction
and beyond.
The Royal Borough of Greenwich Induction Programme for NQTs covers key areas to support NQTs during their induction year. All dates are suitable for EYFS and Primary NQTs, and several are suitable for Secondary NQTs, too. We welcome NQTs from Royal Greenwich schools, as well as NQTs working in schools outside of the borough.

All School Staff A Restorative Approach (RA) is inspired by the philosophy and practices of Restorative Justice, which puts repairing harm done to relationships and people at the heart of its response to conflict and wrongdoing. The ultimate aim of the training is to contribute to the building of a respectful, safe and inclusive school community or setting.
The course is held over 4 days and provides intensive, interactive facilitator training, focusing on building an understanding of a restorative ethos and developing effective facilitation skills.
Participants can also undertake a Level 5 academic component in Restorative Approaches, with the 12 month study and support programme commencing after the training course.

resolution, problem solving and emotional literacy; helping them to understand how to positively repair relationships damaged through conflict

This course has been specifically designed for participants who have already undertaken training in restorative facilitation (either a 3 or 4 day course) and wish to gain Level 5 accreditation
Effective training in restorative facilitation is crucial to ensuring restorative processes delivered in any setting are safe, positive experiences for all involved. The Restorative Justice Council (RJC) champions standards for restorative practice and in 2012 it launched the Accredited Practitioner Register for restorative practice. The Royal Borough of Greenwich have developed a unique training programme - credit rated by the University of Greenwich - which combines three crucial elements to ensure the development of effective RA facilitators, while supporting advancement onto the accredited register. The course will include:
Theory - supporting participants to gain knowledge of the ethos, background and relevance of a Restorative approach, with academic assignments to develop theoretical understanding.
Practice - practical skill development to enable participants to deal with harm in their work settings in a restorative way.
Implementation - a consideration of how to implement restorative approaches in a specific context, including practical resources for embedding a high quality service.
Pupils: ■ Will develop essential life skills in conflict
resolution, problem solving and emotional literacy; helping them to understand how to positively repair relationships damaged through conflict
Practitioners: ■ Will work towards a L5 University
accreditation and on completion, can apply to achieve registration with the Restorative Justice Council - joining a growing body of accredited restorative practitioners
