How to Read Your Royalty Statement 2

Elsevier Royalties – Statement Guide

There may be up to five different sections in your first Alliant Royalty Statement. The graphic below shows how these relate to one another.

1. Royalty SummarySummarises your total royalty payments for the latest period. This sheet aggregates the information from the sections below, including any adjustments to your payment, such as advances or their recoupment (see page 3).

2. Print Sales Activity(PRINT ROYALTY)

Summarises your sales and royalties from print sales and/or returns during the current reporting period. If you have no print sales, this section does not appear(see page 4).

3. Electronic Sales Activity(ELECTRONIC ROYALTY)

Summarises your sales and royalties from electronic sales during the current reporting period, with details of the various distribution platforms. If you have no electronic sales, this section does not appear (see page 5).

4. Subsidiary Rights Sales Activity(SUBRIGHTS ROYALTY)

Summarises sales and royalties from subsidiary rights sales during the current reporting period, i.e. income from third parties and Elsevier affiliate companies for adaptations, translations, licensed content, copying and permission fees. If you have no subsidiary rights sales this section does not appear (see page 6).

5. Royalty Adjustments(RECOUPMENT ADJUSTMENTS)

Reports adjustments to your royalty earnings, including advances, grants and recoupable fees. Both payments and recoupments are shown. If you have no adjustments this section does not appear (see page 7).
