INTRODUCTION

During January of 1992 a VLF-EM survey was performed by the author over a group of six claims within Cochrane Township, District of Sudbury, Ontario.

IflGATIQN AND AOCHSS

The six claims covered in this report consist of P.1176530 to 1176535 inclusive. The claims cover the south half of the north half of Lot 4 Concession 2, the north half of the south half Lot 4 Concession 2, the southeast quarter of the north half of Lot 5 Concession 2 and the north-east quarter of the south half of Lot 5 Concession 2, Cochrane Township. The town of Chapleau is located approximately six miles to the west of the claim group. Access to the property is by boat or by foot from the Grout Bay Landing of Borden Lake on Highway 101 West.

PREVIOUS WORK

There is no evidence of any previous work on the property. However, Noranda Exploration Co. Ltd. carried out an extensive exploration program in the early to mid 1980's on a group of claims located one half mile to the west-northwest of the property.

B. Groves in his report "Report on Ground Magnetometer and Horizontal Loop E.M. Surveys"(Noranda Exploration, 1984.File T-2826) writes:"Detailed geological mapping by Noranda has revealed east-west trending sequences of ultramafic, intermediate and felsic volcanics, with an increasing occurence of clastic sediments towards the western portion of the property. Sulphide mineralization was noted within the intermediate to mafic flows."

P. Dunbar, (Geology of...Assesment File T-2826) writes: "Due to extensive alteration of the roadcut and abundance of sulphide mineralization, it is possible to conclude that this outcrop may be located in close proximity to a volcanic alteration pipe."

SURVEY SPECIFICATIONS

The VLF-EM16 survey was performed along north-south grid lines spaced 400 feet apart. A total of 7.46 miles fo grid line were cut. A total of 284 readings were taken at stations spaced 100 feet apart. The survey was performed using Cutler, Maine 24.0 KHz. Both in-phase and quadrature readings were recorded.

DATA PRESENTATIONIn-phase and quadrature components of the secondary electro-magnetic

field are plotted in profile on the accompanying map at a scale of Y'^32%. The map is drawn at a scale of l'

DISOJSSIOH OF RESULTS

Two strong conductive horizons were delineated in the survey.

ANOMALY AThis feature can be traced across the entire strike length of the

property. The feature is strongest between lines 42E and 54E. In this area it shows very good conductivity and good width, likely in excess of 100 feet. Between lines 14E and 38E the conductor is again strong, but appears to be narrower. It also appears to be masked somewhat by the lake sediments. The feature likely represents the eastern extension of the sulphide/oxide iron formation noted in drill logs of Noranda Exploration (asseament file T-2826).

ANOMALY BThis feature is located on lines 22-26E and again on lines 42-54E. On

lines 22-26E it is a very subtle feature which may be masked in part by the lake sediments. At lines 42-54E the feature shows very good conductivity and widths up to 50 feet. This feature appears to be associated with a felsic fragmental unit noted just east of the survey area. This unit also outcrops immediately south of the conductor on line 22E. A gossan zone has been located on strike of this feature 200 feet to the east of the property.

CONCLUSIONS AND REQQMHKHDftTIQMS

Two conductive features are of note in the survey area. Anomaly A appears to be a regionally extensive sulphide/oxide iron formation. Anomaly B is associated with a felsic pyroclatic unit. Sulphide mineralization is known to occur in association with this feature.

Further work should include a detailed magnetometre survey to better define the structural features of the property and to assist in better defining the cause and extent of the conductive features. A max-min survey is also recommended to better define the conductive features of the property.
