Registration deadline: 8 November 2018 on email: [email protected] RRI Open Access - advantages and challenges for scientific community 16 November 2018, 9:00 – 14: 00 UP FAMNIT, Glagoljaška 8, Koper - Classroom VP2 A one-day workshop on OA will provide an insight into the benefits and challenges of Open access in the scientific community. The workshop will present the general concept of OA, which is advocated by the European Research Commission, as well as the OA initiative at the University of Primorska (progress, repositories, policies and recommendations for researchers). In the second part, the challenges of OA (Ethics Commission, GDPR and OA) will be presented. The workshop will be completed with practical workshop in Open data management and data mining on OA repositories (eg Zenodo). AGENDA: • 9:00 - 9:15: Opening of the workshop with welcome address from UP FAMNIT Dean, Prof. Klavdija Kutnar, PhD • 9:15 - 10:00: Introduction of OA (concept, policy, green/gold path…) (Mojca Kotar, PhD) • 10:05 - 10:45: Presentation of OA at UP (Viljem Leban, Director of UP University Library) • 10:45 - 11:15: Coffee break • 11:15 - 12:00: National strategies and challenges of Open Access in Slovenian academic environment (Ethical issues, OA and GDPR, national strategy,..) (Petra Tramte - Ministry of Education, Science and Sport) • 12:05 - 13:30 Workshop - Managing open data on OA platforms (Mike Burnard, PhD - InnoRenew CoE) • 13:30 - 14:00: Discussion and closing remarks
