The grapes come from 70- year-old vines dotted around five distinct vineyards at 700-800 metres above sea level. It is aged for 16 months in new French oak (225 and 500 litre barrels). TASTING NOTES Very dark, with an arresting aroma, bags of spice, herbs and supreme length VICTUALS Red meat! Grilled lamb chops, shoulder of lamb, or beef stews.

METHOD

Samsó is the local clone of Carignan, and here blended

with Garnacha (Grenache). The grapes come from 70-
