    CAPABILITIES

    EXPERIENCE HARDWARE OPTIONS CONTROL/PROTECTION FUNCTIONS

The RTX Power oers state-of-art equipment for both new and retrot hydro, coal, nuclear or natural gas red power plants.

The RTX Power is also compatible with all major generator OEMs, such as, GE, Westinghouse, Siemens, BBC, Alstom, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Allis Chalmers etc.

The hardware and software of the system can be customized to meet specic functionality and can be scaled up to an output of 10,000 Adc.

Reivax powerful processor unit and open software architecture used in the RTX Power can also be scaled up to include more functionality, such as, governor control and a complete automation package for control / protection of the generator unit.

Reivax has been supplying excitation systems to the power generation industry for 25 years and has currently more than 1,100 systems in operation. Replacements include GE Alterex / Althyrex / Amplidyne, Westinghouse WTA / WMA / MGR, Allis Chalmers Regulex, etc.

Assembled in standard Rittal cabinets, the basic system oers:- Voltage regulatworit h AUTO/MAN- Fast I/O interface (MultiCan) with 48digital inputs3, 0 digital outputs6, 1analog outputs1, 6 analog inputs, 3 PTinputs and 3 CT inputs- Excitation breaker (xed or draw-out)- Air-cooled thyristor bridges

The RTX Power also oers thefollowing redundancy options:

    - Redundant Voltage regulator withbumpless transfer. Each Voltageregulator can operate with eitherthyristor bridge- Redundant I/O interface (MultiCan)- Redundant thyristor bridges- Redundant cooling fans- On-line maintenance can beperformed on controls and thyristorbridge while the redundant systemis in operation

-Automatic Voltage Regulation (Auto)- Field Current Regulation (Manual)- Var Control- Power Factor (PF) control- Generator Voltage Soft-Start function- Reactive droop- Line Drop Compensation- Cross Current Compensation (CCC)- Over Excitation Limiter (OEL)- Under Excitation Limiter (UEL)- Stator Current Limiter (SCL)- Volt/Hertz Limiter- Power Systems Stabilizer (PSS2A/2B)- Field Overvoltage/Overcurrent protection- Loss of Sensing Voltage protection- Loss of Field protection- Field Overtemperature protection- Volt/Hertz protection- Rotor (Field) ground protection- Thyristor bridge conduction monitoring- Air ow monitoring- Thyristor bridge temperature monitoring- Field ashing time limit protection- Watchdog monitoring-Excitation transformer over current protection-Excitation transformer temperature monitoring-Dynamic current share between converters

Other functionality can be added uponrequest.

RTX Power has undergone extensiv esuccessful third party testing withKestrel Power Engineering. Thefollowing items were tested/veried:- Modeling (IEEE421.5)- Transient performance (IEEE421 .2)of AVR, OEL, UEL, V/Hz and PSSThe conclusion by Kestrel PowerEngineering was that RTX Powercomplies with the most stringentNorth American stability requirements.

    HUMAN MACHINE INTERFACE (HMI)

The RTX Power has two interfaces for operation and setting of parameters:

    - HMI alphanumeric (CPX)

    - HMI graphic touchscreen (PAN)

    RTX POWER

The Graphical HMI touch-screen (PAN)comes with a 15” screen for operation, monitoring and diagnostics. It has it’sown CPU and is equipped with four (4)dierent levels of passwordprotection. The software for the panelcan also be loaded on a laptop PC.The following main screens areavailable:- Operation- Sequence Of Events (SOE)- Data logging- Trending- Meetering- Capability curve with limiters- Parameter settings for AVR, limiterand PSS gains

    Sequence of events (SOE)

The Sequence of event functionallows the user to record events with a1ms sampling rate. The register holds3,000 events. As new events are beingadded, the oldest ones will beoverwritten.

The internal clock of the MultiCanprovides the time stamp. The clockcan be synchronized by satellite.

    Datalogging/Trending

The function can record 20 usersdened signals based on a userselectable trigger signal. Recordingwindow is selectable and could beboth pre-and post-trigger. The information is saved to USB stick and can later be viewed in either graphic or table format.

    Simulator

The simulator software allows the user to verify any changes done to the system prior to downloading theparameters to the machine.

The following communication interfaces / protocols are available:

RS-232 Programming / maintenance RS-232 DNP3.0 or IEC 60870-5-101RS-485 Modbus RTU Ethernet Programming, DNP3.0, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus TCPIRIG-B time sync

    RTX POWER

Reivax understands the importance of having access to qualied service personnel, whether it is during the installation and commissioning period or as emergency service throughout the life of the equipment.

Reivax provides customer training either at a Reivax location or at the customer site. The training includes courses for operators on how to operate the system as well as for engineers and technicians on how to troubleshoot the system in case of a fault.

NERC compliance testing is becoming a more common requirement in the industry as NERC needs to know the capability of generating plants and the anticipated performance during steady state and fault conditions.Reivax oers on-site services, compiling of measured data and excitation modeling for submittal in a report to NERC.

Reivax provides PSS setting analysis based on modeling and simulation, on-site tuning of PSS parameters and nal documentation for submission as per NERC dynamic modeling requirements.

As the original warranty expires, Reivax oers the customers further peace of mind, by providing an extended warranty option. The extended warranty is normally accompanied with a scheduled tune-up service.

In addition to services related to providing a turn-key project, Reivax also provides all related equipment, such as, excitation transformer, iso-phase bus duct, non-segregated bus duct, cables, slip ring/brush assembly, bearing /pedestal modications etc.

Spare parts inventory, thus avoiding customs delays. Spare parts are shipped the same day of order.

Even though today’s excitation systems requires very little maintenance, Reivax recommends periodic maintenance to be scheduled in order to maintain the original state of the equipment.

Reivax maintains a 24/7 hotline for emergency support in order to respond to critical situations.

Reivax will work with local installation contractors. Installation supervision and start-up service will be provided by a Reivax service engineer.

Services such as, red marking of existing plant schematics, lay-out drawings, wiring diagrams, tray/cable schedules are provided in order to make the transition to the new excitation system as smooth as possible.
