In all the preceding event displays, hits with nnpe < 1 wereomitted.

But where should we put the pulse-height threshold so as to cut the cross-talk and othernoise, without cutting the “real” hits?

nnpe

unbiased distribution of allthe hits of all the events

only hits located at strip<5or strip>20 (marginal)

at this color-scale all red hits are nnpe>2, hence significant hits, whileit is possible to compare the low-pulse-height hits of variant color
