THESIS STATEMENTFor my senior thesis project, I chose to address the problem of students not staying fit while on campus. I designed a campaign to promote and spread awareness by embedding acts of fitness in everyday life. My goal for this campaign shows students how to stay fit without the use of the gym.

My title for the campaign is “Run Life”, with the slogan, “Run life, don’t let it run you”, and it consists of poster series, floor graphics, and a video public service announcement.

Brand IdentityRun Life was designed to display in its simplest form. I began with a few ideas originally, and settled with the words “Run Life” in the vertical format. However, the logo representing fitness, wasn’t as active as it needed to be, so there was a second run to result in the final design.

RUN LIFE, DON't LET IT RUN YOU.Walking to class is a great way to get your daily dose of exercise especially when you walk quickly ( AS IF you're late for class ).

Run Life Poster : Walk QuicklyFor the first poster of the series, I expressed the idea of a person walking quickly to class as a form of fitness. You can find this poster on the bulletin boards of both entrances in the ABC building. The text on the poster reads: walking to class is a great way to get your daily dose of exercise especially when you walk quickly (as if you’re late for class).

Run Life Poster : Take the stairsFor the second poster of the series, I decided to capture a still of the door, and persuade students to take the stairs to burn calories. You can find this poster on the door of the stairwell on the 4th and 6th floor in the ABC building. The text on the poster reads: using the stairs vs. elevator burns 12.5 calories every 60 seconds you spend climbing, or 750 calories per hour!

Run Life Poster : Park Farther For the last poster of the series, I called-out the amount of calories you can burn if you park at a farther distance. You can find this poster in the main entrance in the ABC building of the parking lot. The design resembles a sporting playbook. The text on the poster reads: parking a farther distance from your destination burns the most calories. These are at a 5mph walking rate.

Floor GraphicsAs a bonus to the thesis, I wanted to leave a mark throughout campus. This was accomplished through footprint floor graphics. You can find these flood graphics in the stairwell of the 4th and 6th floor in the ABC building. The preliminary designs were a bit complex, so I decided to keep it as simple as possible with the Run Life logo on one foot, and “Run Life, don’t let if run you.” slogan on the other.

Public Service Announcement Video The public service announcement video was created to gather the acts of fitness displayed in each poster, and combine them into one. The video expresses an up tempo rhythm, with a variation of speed changes. Overall, it gives you the look and feel of the entire campaign. The video will be uploaded on my YouTube channel.
