Cloud and on-premise products can be deployed in different ways and in infinite combinations. However SAP has identified and documented the most common deployment models for integrating SuccessFactors with SAP ERP or other on premise ERP solutions. We believe these models enable:

Once a customer picks a deployment model, SAP implementation experts conduct a workshop to identify the productized integration components and services available from SAP to reduce the cost and risk of all integrations.

Talent Hybrid deployment model:

Customers use one or more SuccessFactors Talent Solutions applications in the cloud, while using SAP ERP HCM for their employee administration and payroll needs. This model is for customers who want to run talent solutions in the cloud, while keeping employeeadministration on-premise. This is the recommended path to the cloud for customers who are

currently usinglines of business software applications.

Full Cloud HCM deployment model:

Runs all talent solutions, employee administration, and payroll applications in the cloud. These applications connect to on-premise ERP applications using a prepackaged integration. This model is for customers who want to run all people management applications

in the cloud.

Side-by-Side HCM deployment model:

SAP ERP HCM on-premise serves as the system of record for employee and organizational information for one set of employees, while SuccessFactors Employee Central in the cloud serves as a system of record for another set of employees, usually from a subsidiary company. In this model, SuccessFactors Talent Solutions in the cloud is used by all employees of the organization.

Packaged Integrations: SAP has invested in identifying, developing, documenting, delivering, and maintaining a library of functionally rich integrations that most customers need to connect SAP cloud solutions to on-premise and 3rd party applications. This approach makes it faster, easier, and cheaper for customers to implement such integrations.

• Cover the common integrations needed by most customers and takes very little time to implement; usually about 20% of what it would take to build and implement a custom integration

• Designed by SAP software architects using knowledge gained by studying thousands of customer implementations, and in co-innovation with customers.

• Managed by SAP product managers like any other software product, and are subject to the same design, testing, documentation, and release rigor as any other SAP product. Such rigor significantly reduces the risk of business interruption for customers.

• Get access to SAP deep domain knowledge and best practices for hybrid deployments of on-premise and cloud applications. Packaged integrations cover most foundational integrations required by SAP cloud applications.

Standard Integration Templates: Standard integration templates are built to connect SAP cloud products with 3rd-party software vendors in multiple categories. For example, there is a standard integration template to connect SuccessFactors Employee Central with 3rd-party time management software vendors.

Custom Integrations/APIs: Customers and partners often strive to build unique integrations to differentiate themselves from competitors. To help customers build integrations unique to their needs, SAP offers a rich set of open, standards-based, APIs to leverage for custom integrations. SAP customers and partners have already built thousands of custom integrations using these cloud APIs.

Whether it’s the “talent hybrid” model or moving all HR processes to the cloud and integrating the data and processes with on-premise ERP, SAP delivers and maintains a full set of integrations based on our deep knowledge of both platforms. Cost savings can reach 25,000 – 75,000 Euros per interface, plus maintenance costs for when software is changed.
