RUNAWAY ANTS

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT DURING PROJECT

• Primarily, with the help of our experiment,we observed that against which plants are the ants have a tendency to move away from.

• We use pungent smell plants as mint,basil,thyme,sage,lemon peel,clover etc. İn our experiments.

• We observed that the ants mostly move away from mint,thyme and sage plants.

• We thought that we could make a liquid medicine by using this plants.

• We did experiment by using these plants’ oil seperately.In each experiment, the ants showed a tendency to stay away from foods.

We created a mixture by mixing equal amounts of these plants’ oil.

Firstly we used this mixture on ants in the laboratory and than ants in home.

THE RESULT

• We have done non-chemical ant pesticide.• Both people and ants will not be damaged.• The mixture that we have done with the sage

oil,mint oil and thyme oil send away the ants because of their smell.

• The ants weren’t seen for a long time in places where the drug is used.So we send away them without killing.
