Produce Data Snapshot; Study five REDI themes; Seek local input; Determine possible themes to pursue;
Conduct 2-day on-site intensive training that provides the REDI team with skills and tools needed to produce a regional plan. Select theme(s).
Develop REDI plan format. Help team develop the plan. Connect team to relevant Purdue/UK program resources.
Provide protocol for the REDI team to use for garnering public input on the plan; guide the team in analyzing pubic input; help team finalize plan.
Host webinars focused on federal and state funding opportunities. Help team develop grant-writing skills (if needed).

Rural Community Assistance Partnership
RCAP: WealthWorks Technical Assistance Program
The Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) and assembled partners will provide technical assistance on economic development planning and implementation using the WealthWorks model, which emphasizes increasing local ownership and connecting local assets to real market demand.

Process & Next Steps
What does a successful application look like?
A successful application will demonstrate a strong rural focus, the capacity to participate in
planning and implementation of economic development strategies, robust and inclusive
partnerships, and an understanding of regional issues and assets.
Logistics
• One Page Letters of Interest can be emailed to USDA Rural Development Innovation Center [email protected] by March 8, 2019. (Please note: A Letter of Interest is not a requirement to submit a complete application)
• Application and letters of support, please email one complete file to the USDA Rural Development Innovation Center with subject line “REDI Application” via [email protected] By April 5, 2019.
The Process
• A scoring panel will match rural communities on a competitive basis.
• We know that the cooperators cannot assist everyone that applies.
• Assistance will be given at no cost. • Questions? Cooperators and Innovation Center
