To acquire, hold and manage land and other property of any kind whatsoever and sell, let, lease or otherwise dispose of such land or other property on such terms and conditions as the Minister determines;

To carry out development, building, maintenance, repair, improvement and other operations;

To provide water, gas, electricity, sewage and other services;

To carry on any business or undertaking in, or for the purpose of, any housing development;

• To make advances to persons on such conditions and securities as may be prescribed for any of the following purposes :

i. acquiring houses and land or constructing houses,ii. acquiring buildings to be converted into houses,iii. converting into houses buildings already acquired,iv. altering, enlarging, repairing or improving houses;

MANDATE OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING CORPORATION

• to execute plans for slum clearance and redevelopment;

• generally to carry out the provisions of this Act, together with such other functions as may be conferred upon it by the Minister for the purposes of this Act or by any other enactment.
