Why LED?Energy SavingsSaving energy is an important factor for many communities and decision makers. LED lighting offers one of the highest energy savings of any lighting source on the market. In comparison to high–intensity discharge (HID) lamps, LED luminaires could save up to 50% in energy consumption.

SustainabilityWhat does Green really mean? Many think of it in terms of the degree to which we are preserving our planet. One way to accomplish this is to reduce our “carbon footprint”. The carbon footprint is thought of as the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and green house gases released into the atmosphere by human activity or a product lifecycle. By switching to LED, the amount of CO2 emitted is drastically reduced. In addition, since LEDs are mercury-free and contain no hazardous materials they are environmentally safe and recyclable.

Warranty and LifeStandard Philips warranty for LED products including the RX1 and RX2 roadway luminaires is 5-year extended (consult factory for warranties exceeding 5-years). Based on in-situ thermal testing and data from Philips Lumileds and Philips Advance, the RX1 and RX2 are expected to reach 80,000 hours with >L70 lumen maintenance @ 25°C.

DriverDrivers included in the RX1 and RX2 luminaires are Philips Advance XITANIUM LED drivers and are available in single or multiple drive current options. Standard drivers offer 0-10V dimming capability and universal voltage input from 120-277VAC or 347-480VAC. Input frequency is 50-60Hz and all XITANIUM drivers are RoHS compliant. Drivers are installed on the enclosure door, keeping them mechanically separated from the canopy which doubles as the LED array heat sink. This allows the driver case temperature to remain well below the maximum rated temperature for enhanced reliability and lifetime.

Surge SupressionOptional surge suppression current rating available for the RX1 and RX2 is 10 kV BIL. Enclosure for surge suppression device is constructed of high temperature, flameproof material with an 85°C maximum surface temperature rating. The device consists of a thermally protected transient overvoltage circuit and is designed for use with universal voltage ballasts and drivers.

DynadimmerPublic outdoor lighting has an important function in making outdoor activities after sunset possible in a safe and comfortable way. For a long time controlling outdoor lighting was limited to switching it on or off, and saving energy was only possible by switching off luminaires. But the Philips Dynadimmer is now a flexible solution to saving energy in a safe way.

The Dynadimmer is a stand-alone control unit that has a 0-10 volt dimming output and can be used in combination with a compatible dimmable electronic driver.

Adding a Dynadimmer to a luminaire contributes to lower energy consumption, less light pollution and a more sustainable world for all.

If safety is a concern, the Philips Dynadimmer is also equipped with a dimming override feature which can be used with standard, third party motion sensors.

Standard Dimming OptionsThere are 9 standard dimming schedules available. The chart below shows you those options. Any of these nine options can be pre-programmed at the factory and the Dynadimmer will be pre-installed inside of the luminaire. The Dynadimmer requires 3 full nights to adjust.

A custom dimming schedule is available using the Dynadimmer software. This easy-to-use software provides the ability to create a dimming configuration and forecast energy savings. This dimming schedule may be fine-tuned and programmed into each individual Dynadimmer 0-10V. Please consult your Philips Hadco Representative for more details.
