V1 - PAGE01Z01MA PARRAMATTA ADVERTISER, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 05 THERE were not many tears at Rydalmere Public School on Monday as the new class of kindergarten pupils started school. While they were excited and raring to go, new prin- cipal Bek Zadow was also ready to start the year in her new school. “It’s just a beautiful school,” she said. “You walk in and feel that warmth. All the pro- jects line up with lots of things that I have done and it’s the next step for- ward in my career.” Mrs Zadow has been teaching for 12 years across all primary ages and will continue at Rydalmere Public as a teaching princi- pal. “I’m really passionate about getting the best for every student who walks through these gates,” she said. “Putting the best edu- cational program and sports in place for all students is al- ways at the core.” As well as a new principal and students, the school is also boasting a new uniform and logo this year. In the update, the school is dispensing with the old grey and maroon uniforms. The students will now be brightening up the school and surrounds in smart navy blue and red. “It’s stylish and comfort- able clothing for the kids, so they can still do their sport in the uniform,” Mrs Zadow said. “The steering committee looked at ways to improve the school. “They also updated our blue wren logo. It’s to help the community recognise that we’re here.” Mrs Zadow said the school, while small, offered everything the larger public schools do. “We also have the pre- school on site and a com- munity playgroup that’s run by volunteers,” she said.
