For nearly forty years, Simes outdoor light fittings have satisfied demanding project needs from around the world. As specialists in the production of fittings for exterior lighting, Simes offers the best technical solutions to illuminate the outside of the building and its surroundings from green areas, cycle-pedestrian zones through to lowland, humid areas, swimming pools and fountains.
This new brochure offers a concrete synthesis between the consolidated quality of the raw materials sourced in the industrial district of Franciacorta (Italy) and the extraordinary technological innovations for outdoor lighting fittings. The new LED technology introduced with 2011 novelties will assure higher lighting performances than the previous LED fittings, giving a performance that can equal the indices of traditional sources. Additionally, these new sources, provide improved temperature resistance and longer maintenance periods.

NANOLED is a nano IP67 LED fitting which is dimmable and extraordinary integrated in a fast connector. It is equipped with a round or square ring in STAINLESS STEEL 316L, guaranteed against intermolecular oxidation, totally lacking visible location screws. Extremely interesting performance is achieved in all the versions available: walkover, wall recessed and downlight using only 0.8W or 1.25W of power. With transparent or opal diffuser, Nanoled is perfect for very defined effects of accent light as well as for evocative effects of soft light.
CONTINUOUS LINE is a walk-over IP67 LED fitting designed to obtain perfect homogeneous light along the distance of the installation. Extremely easy to install and purposely endowed with accessories that help ensure smooth and level connections assuring the absolute continuity of light along the length of the system, this product can transform any atmosphere with class and refinement. The spring locking mechanism in the housing, lets CONTINUOUS LINE be adapted for use in pavements and walls. The installation is suggested in protected outdoor areas.
SQUARE SLOT widens and completes the cylindrical Slot range, with a concept based on the modern requirement for a simple form which can be adapted for projects requiring individual personality. Available in 3 various dimensions, LED and metal halide, with installation and maintenance simplified by a terminal block on the base. This terminal block helps wall-effect Slot squared to obtain a perfect perpendicular positioning to the ground.
The formal geometry of ZEN can be considered a real synthesis of a design perfectly balanced with elegance where the main technical aspects of energy saving rate and optimal visual comfort are not forgot. The diffuser using printed glass, painted in double layer, assures an excellent distribution of light. The IP55 protection and the possibility to integrate protecting grids, lets ZEN become part of any architectural scheme both external and internal.

OPTICThe optics of a fitting are fundamental aids for the LED, because they help to channel the output emitted from the source, in a defined solid angle. The quality of optics and reflectors from Simes begins with the selection of raw materials used for their production and continues with the search of their best index of performance obtainable. This calculation is carried out by Simes using OPTIS, a high tech software package for the theoretical calculation of the maximum output from a determined design. The photometric hypothesis that is derived, is supported by the actual measurements achieved in the Simes IMQ accredited laboratory, giving certified data on the performance of the reflector.
DRIVERThe ballast and electronic components of the fittings absorb a good percentage of the output produced from the light source. Simes chooses only components from entrusted partner that can guarantee the maximum performances with the minimum absorption.
WHITEThe white colour of the LED is obtained from LEDs with blue emission, which are deposited with phosphorus that modifies the spectrum emission. The gradation from cold white to warm white is directly dependent on the amount of deposited phosphorus. Therefore the tonality of the warm LED will have a lower efficiency than the cold tonality, but will have the best colour rendering. Simes will scrupulously selects the
BINThe bin identifies the quality of the LED for colour, output and working voltage. In order to assure the quality of the lighting system, Simes has standardized a bin of reference for its suppliers. It has a specified colour range, inside of which the human eye does not perceive any variation and the efficiency is almost uniform for all LEDs from that bin. Before being integrated into the fittings, the lighting sources selected are studied in the photometric laboratory at Simes and issued with an IMQ performance certificate, that attests its real efficiency during operation.
TEMPERATUREDuring operation, all LED light sources develop heat due to the flow of current in the semiconductor. Every source works with its own specific junction temperature which must be controlled to avoid reducing the useful life of the source even in continuous operation. Simes undertake thermal tests to measure the stresses on the sensitive zones of the chip, to verify the thermal conformity of the radiating zones of the fittings and of the LEDs inside them.

LED OPTICs
Different from the traditional sources that have a wide beam angle, LEDs emit a light with a solid angle of less than 180°, which assures the minimum waste of light and guarantees high efficiency of the source. In order to obtain the highest efficiencies from the LEDs in the lighting systems, Simes studies and develops the best optical systems for these LED circuits, maximising their performance. Both wide beam and narrow beam optics are available directly from the catalogue, in order to satisfy a range of project requirements.

CONTINUOUS LINE is equipped with to-be-fixed supports to perfectly align additional fittings and provide easy installation.
Using this simple system to join the housing and supports also assists in levelling the housings in a CONTINUOUS LINE.
The CONTINUOUS LINE fittings are equipped with a head to head wiring system.
The result is a continuous line of light.

CONTINUOUS LINE
The housing is realized in aluminium and it is supplied with a protective cover resistant to tearing, which is to be removed only after cementing the housing flush to the pavement, just before the final installation of the fitting.
CONTINUOUS LINE is available in version flush to the pavement for applications in full pavements of concrete or stone.
It is possible to level the fitting using 2 screws.
The product is walkover up to 500 Kg. The low surface temperature allows the installation to be used in places accessible to the public.

The in-ground versions are supplied with polypropylene recessing box.
The recessing box supplied with the wall recessed versions is 85mm for the installation in narrow walls.
The down light versions are supplied with clips for installation in false-ceilings 5÷20mm thick.

NANOLED has been developed from the base of a cable gland (nanoled Ø 30mm) or a fast connector (nanoled Ø 45mm).
The front ring and lamp body are cast together as a single piece thus preventing any infiltrations from the top of the fitting.
NANOLED is supplied with a converter for parallel connection of the fittings: this allows to identify the damaged fitting in case of malfunction.
The electronic circuit is dimmable (with the use of the remote power supply S.3402) thanks to the PWM technology (pulse with modulation) and remote power supply.
