Visitors
Welcome to historic St. Rose of Lima Catholic
Church! Built over a century ago, we all owe a debt of
gratitude to the Irish faithful who were the first to call
this church their parish. For apart from the countless
sacrifices made by that first generation of faithful to
build a suitable house of prayer and divine worship for
the greater glory of God, this beautiful church would
not exist.
Many of the beautiful stained glass windows, perhaps
the most stunning feature of the church, have been
newly restored. Rendered in the Munich Pictorial
style, they depict scenes from the life of Christ as well
as images of various angels and saints. By the end of
this year, we hope to complete this restoration project.
The careful observer will discern elements from the
Gothic, Romanesque, and Byzantine styles which
together make up the style known as Venetian Gothic.
When the church was entrusted to the care of the
priests of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter in 2008,
the sanctuary was renovated and restored for the
celebration of the usus antiquior (more ancient usage)
of the Roman rite. Bishop Paprocki consecrated the
new main and side altars in 2012 and established the
church as a personal parish on New Years Day, 2014.
After both Sunday Masses, visitors are invited to meet
and greet some of our parishioners in the parish hall
and socialize over coffee and donuts. If interested in
joining the parish, simply call the office.

From the Desk of the Pastor External Solemnity of the Rosary Connect and Watch!
I hope that by now, you have been able to register into
formed.org and have begun to watch some of the materials
available. In last week bulletin, I listed all the various
video series available. There are also a few digital books
available, a few audio recordings provided by Lighthouse
and a few full length religious movies from Ignatius Press.
All this for free. Do not hesitate to use this great resource!
New books, audios, and movies will be added later on.
We asked you 2 weeks ago to fill out a survey about
how you wish our parish to use this resource. It takes 5
minutes to do so. Thank you to all those who have done so!
If you have not done so yet, do it today! The surveys are
available in the vestibule of the church. We will talk about
the survey results at our first Symbolon meeting on
Wednesday, October 7. The discussion on the first 2 videos
will be at 6:30 pm. Watch them beforehand and write down
questions! If you can, come as early as 5:30 pm for
drink and finger food and the projection of those 2
videos on a large screen.
In the materials contained in Formed, there is a
preparation to the Consecration to the Blessed Virgin
Mary as proposed by St. Louis Marie Grignon de Montfort
and others. We are planning to have this consecration on
the feast of the Presentation of Our Lady on Saturday,
November 21st. To do so, you need to start by October 19.
There will be an introductory meeting on Friday,
October 16 in the Parish Hall. You can prepare at home
watching the videos of the program 33 Days to Morning
Glory or go to the hall on Friday evening to watch them.
You will also need a booklet with various readings and
meditations. If you wish to read more, the Treaty on the
True Devotion to Mary and the Secret of Mary, both by St.
Louis Grignon de Montfort, are fundamental to this
consecration. If you are interested or have any question
about this consecration, contact Sherry Kemner. (See next
page for contact info)
If you do not have an internet connection at home and/
or no electronic device to connect, we have installed an
internet connection in the hall: StRoseHall and the
password is < informed >. We do not have a computer in
place but we will if anyone is interested. If you have your
own device, bring it with you at your convenience between
Business hours (9 to 4), ask for a key of the hall and
connect. You need to establish your own login using once
the Parish Code found in the first page of the Bulletin.
We have also an internet connection in church in case
you wish to follow the texts of the Mass on an electronic
device. Its name is StRoseChurch and the password is
<latinmass>. There is an inexpensive app which provides
the texts of the Extraordinary Form Mass of the Day in
both Latin and English called iMass. That app offers a lot
more such as live Masses in case you are not able to get to
church. If you prefer a hand missal to follow Mass, we have
some at the rectory. Remember to put your mobile
device or phone on a quiet mode before going to
church! Know your faith!
