The Prodigal Son

There was a man who had two sons.

One day, the younger son asked for his inheritance so he can leave his father’s house.

The son took the money and went to a far country.

The Prodigal Son

The Prodigal son spent all the money foolishly.

He became friends with sinful people.

He realized that he had lost all his money and all his friends abandoned him.

The Son Loses His Wealth

There was a shortage of food and he couldn’t find anything to eat.

He was so poor that he had to take a job feeding the pigs. He ate pig food to survive.

The Son Lives Among Swine

He remembered that the servants in his father’s house had more food than he did.

He was so hungry that he decided to go back to his father and ask for forgiveness.

The Son Decides to Return Home

He travelled back to his father’s house. The father saw him at a great distance away and ran and kissed him.

The prodigal son said to the father, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.”

The Father Forgives the Son

The father was so happy that he told his servants to dress his son in a nice robe and give him a ring.

The father had a great feast to celebrate.

The Father Celebrates

Conclusion

Our parents know what is best for us.

They might not always give us everything we want but they know what is useful and what is harmful.

Obey Your Parents

It is important to choose friends who are godly.

The Prodigal Son had sinful friends who abandoned him.

Good friends are loyal.

Choose Good Friends

God is merciful and is willing to forgive our sins if we ask him to.

If we sin, we must repent and never do it again.

We have to go and confess to our father of confession.
