How are the consequences of their actions different? 2) According to Psalm 1, what is the secret to blessing and prosperity? How can this come about? 3) What similarities can you find between Psalm 1 and Joshua 1:7-8? What leads to courage and success? 4) Count the descriptions of Scripture in Psalm 19:7- 11. In 19:14 what response did reveling in God’s Word lead David to? 5) How valuable is the Bible to you, really? Why? What are ways you could be more rooted in Scripture, like a flourishing tree? 6) What does obeying the cautions of Psalm 1:1 look like in your life today? Pray for strength and for loyalty to God! A Prelude to Life Sit, Walk, Stand, Drink Psalm 1 July 14 th , 2019 Additional Questions 1) Verse 1 is an illustration of daily life. When in your days or weeks are you most likely to hear the counsel of the wicked? How long do you listen to it? Do you tolerate “entertainment” that is destructive toward your faith or belief? What can you do about it? How do you receive the proper counsel? 2) To stand means to be “passively.” In what ways are you unconcerned about sin in your life or community? Do you feel it is “impossible” to take a stand for Christ? 3) To sit means to give in. In what ways are you allowing the views, beliefs and philosophy of this present age wear you down to where you just want to put your head down and give up? How can we prepare our children to face these challenges in their colleges and universities?
