Counting/Numbers
In Pre-K we learn to identify numbers 0-10 and count by 20. If your child skips a number like 14 then your child can only count to 13. If your child can count past 20 that is great. Boredom Buster Ideas:Sidewalk Chalk: This can be used on concrete, wood, and other surfaces. It is easy to clean off with water. This helps with fine motor and eye hand coordination.
Cutting: Using age appropriate scissors is a great way to help with fine motor coordination. They can cut pictures out of magazines, newspapers, sales papers. Each week have them make a grocery list by cutting pictures out of the sales papers and gluing or taping onto a piece of paper. This activity requires supervision.
Reading: One of the most important tasks you can do. This helps with listening comprehension, attention spans, letter identification, etc. If you don’t have any books at home, try this website:
