1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning use of the appliance in a safeway and understand the hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by

1.2 General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, its service agent or similarlyqualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Installation

WARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Obey the installation instruction

supplied with the appliance.• Always be careful when you move the

appliance because it is heavy. Alwayswear safety gloves.

• Make sure the air can circulate aroundthe appliance.

• Wait at least 4 hours beforeconnecting the appliance to thepower supply. This is to allow the oilto flow back in the compressor.

• Do not install the appliance close toradiators or cookers, oven or hobs.

• The rear of the appliance must standagainst the wall.

• Do not install the appliance wherethere is direct sunlight.

• Do not install this appliance in areasthat are too humid or too colds, suchas the construction appendices,garages or wine cellars.

• When you move the appliance, lift itby the front edge to avoid scratchingthe floor.

2.2 Electrical connection

WARNING!Risk of fire and electricalshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• All electrical connections should be

made by a qualified electrician.• Make sure that the electrical

information on the rating plate agreeswith the power supply. If not contactan electrician.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe electrical components (e.g. mainsplug, mains cable, compressor).Contact the Service or an electricianto change the electrical components.

• The mains cable must stay below thelevel of the mains plug.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

2.3 Use

WARNING!Risk of injury, burns,electrical shock or fire.

• Do not change the specification ofthis appliance.

• Do not put electrical appliances (e.g.ice cream makers) in the applianceunless they are stated applicable bythe manufacturer.

• Be careful not to cause damage tothe refrigerant circuit. It containsisobutane (R600a), a natural gas with ahigh level of environmentalcompatibility. This gas is flammable.

• If damage occurs to the refrigerantcircuit, make sure that there are noflames and sources of ignition in theroom. Ventilate the room.

• Do not let hot items to touch theplastic parts of the appliance.

• Do not put soft drinks in the freezercompartment. This will createpressure on the drink container.

• Do not store flammable gas andliquid in the appliance.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

• Do not touch the compressor or thecondenser. They are hot.

• Do not remove or touch items fromthe freezer compartment if your handsare wet or damp.

• Do not freeze again food that hasbeen thawed.

• Obey the storage instructions on thepackaging of frozen food.

2.4 Care and cleaning

WARNING!Risk of injury or damage tothe appliance.

• Before maintenance, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mainsplug from the mains socket.

• This appliance contains hydrocarbonsin the cooling unit. Only a qualifiedperson must do the maintenance andthe recharging of the unit.

• Regularly examine the drain of theappliance and if necessary, clean it. Ifthe drain is blocked, defrosted watercollects in the bottom of theappliance.

2.5 Disposal

WARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door to prevent children

and pets to be closed inside of theappliance.

• The refrigerant circuit and theinsulation materials of this applianceare ozone-friendly.

• The insulation foam containsflammable gas. Contact yourmunicipal authority for information onhow to discard the appliancecorrectly.

• Do not cause damage to the part ofthe cooling unit that is near the heatexchanger.

3. OPERATION

3.1 Control panel

3.2 Switching on1. Connect the mains plug to the power

socket.2. Press the appliance ON/OFF if the

display is off.The alarm buzzer could operate after fewseconds.The temperature indicators show the setdefault temperature.To reset the alarm refer to "Hightemperature alarm".

To select a different set temperaturerefer to "Temperature regulation".

If "dEMo" appears on the display, referto "What to do if..." chapter.

If the door remains open forsome minutes, the light willturn off automatically. Thelight is reset by closing andopening the door itself.

3.3 Switching off1. Press the appliance ON/OFF button

for a few seconds.The display switches off.2. Disconnect the mains plug from the

power socket.

3.4 Switching on the fridgeTo switch on the fridge it is enough topress the fridge temperature regulator.To switch on the fridge in the other way:

1. Press Mode until the correspondingicon appears.

The Fridge OFF indicator flashes.2. Press OK to confirm.The fridge OFF indicator goes off.

To select a different settemperature refer to"Temperature regulation".

3.5 Switching off the fridge1. Press Mode until the corresponding

icon appears.The fridge OFF indicator and the fridgecompartment indicator flash.The fridge temperature indicator showsdashes.2. Press OK to confirm.The fridge OFF indicator is shown.

3.6 Temperature regulationSet temperature of the fridge and of thefreezer by pressing the temperaturebuttons. Default temperatures:

• +5°C for the fridge• -18°C for the freezer

The temperature indicators show the settemperature.

After a power failure the settemperature remains stored.The set temperature will bereached within 24 hours.

3.7 High temperature alarmAn increase in the temperature in thefreezer compartment (for example due toan earlier power failure) is indicated by:

• flashing of the alarm and freezertemperature indicators;

• sounding of the buzzer.

Press any button to reset the alarm.The buzzer switches off.The freezer temperature indicator showsthe highest temperature reached for a

few seconds. Then show again the settemperature.The alarm indicator continues to flashuntil the normal conditions are restored.

3.8 COOLMATIC functionIf you need to insert a large amount ofwarm food, for example after doinggrocery shopping, we suggest activatingthe COOLMATIC function to chill theproducts more rapidly and to avoidwarming the other food which is alreadyin the refrigerator.

1. Press Mode until the correspondingicon appears.

The COOLMATIC indicator flashes.2. Press OK to confirm.The COOLMATIC indicator is shown.

The COOLMATIC functionshuts off automatically after52 hours.To switch off the functionbefore its automatic end,repeat the steps until theCOOLMATIC indicator goesoff.

3.9 FROSTMATIC functionThe FROSTMATIC function acceleratesthe freezing of fresh food and, at thesame time, protects foodstuffs alreadystored from undesirable warming.

1. Press Mode button until thecorresponding icon appears.

The FROSTMATIC indicator flashes.2. Press OK button to confirm.The FROSTMATIC indicator is shown.

The FROSTMATIC functionshuts off automatically after52 hours.To switch off the functionbefore its automatic end,repeat the steps until theFROSTMATIC indicator goesoff.

3.10 DYNAMICAIR function1. Press Mode until the corresponding

icon appears.The DYNAMICAIR indicator flashes.2. Press OK to confirm.

The DYNAMICAIR indicator is shown.

The activation of theDYNAMICAIR functionincreases energyconsumption.If the function is activatedautomatically, theDYNAMICAIR indicator isnot shown (refer to "Dailyuse").

To switch off the function, repeat thesteps until the DYNAMICAIR indicatorgoes off.

3.11 MinuteMinder functionThe MinuteMinder function is to be usedto set an acoustic alarm at the preferredtime, useful for example when a reciperequires to cool down food products fora certain length of time or when areminder is needed in order not to forgetthe bottles placed in the freezer for fastcooling.

1. Press Mode until the correspondingicon appears.

The MinuteMinder indicator flashes.The Timer shows the set value (30minutes) for a few seconds.2. Press the Timer regulator to change

the Timer set value from 1 to 90minutes.

3. Press OK to confirm.The MinuteMinder indicator is shown.The Timer starts to flash (min).It is possible to change the time at anytime during the countdown and at theend by pressing the Temperature colderbutton and the Temperature warmerbutton.

At the end of the countdown, theMinuteMinder indicator flashes and an

audible alarm sounds. Press OK to switchoff the sound and terminate the function.

It is possible to deactivate the function atany time during the countdown byrepeating the function steps, until theindicator turns off.

3.12 Holiday modeThis function allows you to keep therefrigerator closed and empty during along holiday period without theformation of a bad smell.

Empty the fridgecompartment before turningthe Holiday mode on.

1. Press the Mode button until theHoliday indicator icon appears.

The Holiday icon flashes.The fridge temperature indicator showsthe set temperature.2. Press the OK button to confirm.The Holiday icon appears.To turn off the Holiday mode, repeat theprocedure until the Holiday indicatoricon goes off.

3.13 ChildLock functionActivate the ChildLock function to lockthe buttons from unintentionaloperation.

1. Press Mode until the correspondingicon appears.

The ChildLock indicator flashes.2. Press OK to confirm.The ChildLock indicator is shown.To deactivate the ChildLock function,repeat the procedure until the ChildLockindicator goes off.

4.1 Initial power on

CAUTION!Before inserting the powerplug in to the outlet andswitching on the cabinet forthe first time, leave theappliance standing uprightfor at least 4 hours. This willassure a sufficient amount oftime for the oil to return tothe compressor. Otherwisethe compressor or electroniccomponents may sustaindamage.

4.2 Storage of frozen foodWhen first starting-up or after a periodout of use, before putting the productsin the compartment let the appliance runat least 2 hours with the FROSTMATICfunction turned on. The freezer drawersensure that it is quick and easy to findthe food package you want. If largequantities of food are to be stored,remove all drawers except for thebottom drawer which needs to be inplace to provide good air circulation. Onall shelves it is possible to place foodthat protrude until 15 mm from the door.

4.3 Freezing fresh foodThe freezer compartment is suitable forfreezing fresh food and storing frozenand deep-frozen food for a long time.

To freeze small amount of fresh foods itis not necessary to change the presentsetting.

To freeze fresh food activate theFROSTMATIC function at least 24 hoursbefore placing the food to be frozen inthe freezer compartment.

Place the fresh food to be frozen in thetop compartment.

The maximum amount of food that canbe frozen in 24 hours is specified on the rating plate, a label located on theinside of the appliance.

The freezing process lasts 24 hours:during this period do not add other foodto be frozen.

When the freezing process is completed,return to the required temperature (see"FROSTMATIC Function").

In this condition, therefrigerator compartmenttemperature might dropbelow 0°C. If this occursreset the temperatureregulator to a warmersetting.

4.4 FreshBox moduleThe drawer inside the module is suitablefor storing fresh food like fish, meat,seafood, because the temperature islower here than in the rest of the fridge.

CAUTION!Before placing or removingthe FreshBox module insidethe appliance, pull out theMaxiBox drawer and glasscover.

The FreshBox module is equipped withrunners. At the time of its removal fromthe fridge compartment pull the moduletowards yourself and remove the basketby tilting its front downwards.

4.5 DYNAMICAIRThe refrigerator compartment isequipped with an automatic device thatallows for rapid cooling of foods andmore uniform temperature in thecompartment.

It is possible to switch on the devicemanually (refer to DYNAMICAIR mode).

5. CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

5.1 Cleaning the interiorBefore using the appliance for the firsttime, the interior and all internalaccessories should be washed withlukewarm water and some neutral soapto remove the typical smell of a brand-new product, then dried thoroughly.

CAUTION!Do not use detergents orabrasive powders, as thesewill damage the finish.

5.2 Periodic cleaning

CAUTION!Do not pull, move ordamage any pipes and/orcables inside the cabinet.

CAUTION!Take care of not to damagethe cooling system.

CAUTION!When moving the cabinet,lift it by the front edge toavoid scratching the floor.

The equipment has to be cleanedregularly:

1. Clean the inside and accessories withlukewarm water and some neutralsoap.

2. Regularly check the door seals andwipe clean to ensure they are cleanand free from debris.

3. Rinse and dry thoroughly.4. If accessible, clean the condenser

and the compressor at the back ofthe appliance with a brush. This operation will improve theperformance of the appliance andsave electricity consumption.

The lowest shelf, dividing the coolercompartment from the compartment canbe removed only for cleaning. To removepull out the shelf straight.

To make sure fullyfunctionality of the FreshBoxcompartment the lowestshelf and cover plates mustbe put back in their originalposition after cleaning.

The cover plates above the drawers inthe compartment can be taken out forcleaning.

5.3 DefrostingYour appliance is frost free. This meansthat there is no build up of frost when itis in operation, neither on the internalwalls nor on the foods. The absence offrost is due to the continuous circulationof cold air inside the compartment,driven by an automatically controlled fan.The defrost water drains out through atrough into a special container at theback of the appliance, over the motorcompressor, where it evaporates.

It is important to periodically clean thedefrost water drain hole in the middle ofthe refrigerator compartment channel toprevent the water overflowing anddripping onto the food inside.

5.4 Periods of non-operationWhen the appliance is not in use for longperiods, take the following precautions:

1. Disconnect the appliance fromelectricity supply.

2. Remove all food.3. Clean the appliance and all

accessories.4. Leave the door/doors open to

prevent unpleasant smells.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING

6.1 What to do if...

6.2 Replacing the lampThe appliance is equipped with a longlifeLED interior light.

7.1 PositioningThis appliance can be installed in a dry,well ventilated indoor where the ambienttemperature corresponds to the climateclass indicated on the rating plate of theappliance:

7.2 Electrical Connection

• A - green and yellow: Earth• C - brown: Live• D - blue: NeutralAs the colours of the wires in the mainslead of this appliance may notcorrespond with the coloured markingsidentifying the terminals in your plug,proceed as follows:

1. Connect the wire coloured green andyellow to the terminal marked eitherwith the letter “E“ or by the earth

symbol or coloured green andyellow.

2. Connect the wire coloured blue tothe terminal either marked with theletter “N“ or coloured black.

3. Connect the wire coloured brown tothe terminal either marked with the“L“ or coloured red.

4. Check that no cut, or stray strands ofwire is present and the cord clamp(E) is secure over the outer sheath. Make sure the electricity supplyvoltage is the same as that indicatedon the appliance rating plate.

The appliance is supplied with a 13 ampfuse (B). In the event of having to changethe fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 ampASTA approved (BS 1362) fuse must beused.

WARNING!A cut off plug inserted into a13 amp socket is a serioussafety (shock) hazard. Ensurethat it is disposed of safely.

7.3 Installation of theappliance and door reversal

Please refer to separateinstructions on installation(ventilation requirements,levelling) and door reversal.
