By the time you get your hands on 2015’s first edition of Saab Torque, any New Year resolutions you might have made may be long-forgotten. Or maybe not. You see, at Saab Parts there’s one resolution we always make every year. And that’s to make sure we give Saab drivers the very best customer experience we can.
Our name change early last year to Orio AB helped us hugely to develop our role as a world-class parts provider with extensive logistics, engineering knowledge and a strong innovative spirit. The new name refl ected a signifi cant expansion in our commercial activities and the renaming helped avoid any limitations or confusion that might have resulted by retaining the Saab name. Trading as Orio AB made it easier for us to offer our skills, products and know-how to a much broader customer base, complemented by a new logo to reinforce our new corporate identity. And we will continue to develop our role as a world-class parts provider with extensive logistics, engineering knowledge and a strong innovative spirit.
Saab lives onBecoming Orio AB does not mean that we are abandoning Saab owners. As the sole distributor of the entire range of Saab Original parts in the world, Orio AB will continue to support and supply Saab Authorised Service Centres, workshops and Saab owners alike with reliable service and expertise – just as we have done for the last 67 years.
In December last year we took yet another step forward in fulfi lling this promise by signing a contract with National Electric
Vehicle Sweden AB (Nevs) – the company that rescued Saab Automobile from bankruptcy in 2012 – to acquire the 12,500 tools located at various suppliers and used for producing Saab Original spares for all existing Saab models.
“This strategically important acquisition safeguards the production of Saab Original spare parts in the long term and ensures that we maintain our position as the sole supplier of original parts for Saab cars. Saab owners and Saab Authorised Service Centres the world over are now guaranteed a supply of spare parts well into the future,” responded Jonas Tegström, Orio AB CEO.
Keeping the show on the roadSaab owners will also be pleased to hear that the Saab Parts business will be maintained as a distinct, fully branded operation offering a comprehensive portfolio of products and service for owners in the UK and around the world.
All UK Saab Service and Parts Centres will continue to display Saab signs and actively promote Saab after sales just as they always have done.
Saab began selling vehicles in the UK in 1960 and has nearly 70 years’ trading experience. There are now over 190,000 Saabs across the UK with over a million worldwide and their owners are still our most valued customers. At Orio AB we look forward to helping you and them maintain these great cars on our roads for many more years to come.

On November 13, 2013 Saab Automobile Parts AB changed its name to Orio AB and our ten subsidiaries in Europe and the US followed suit. The overall strategy – besides investing even more in serving Saab owners – is to widen our company’s customer base and supply parts to more car brands and offer logistics services as well as others.
