Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2015 Monument Quilt Event for Survivors and Supporters Friday, April 3 7pm HDV/GLS Center Monument Quilt is a project aimed at creating a public healing space by and for survivors of rape and abuse. Survivors of sexual trauma or abuse, secondary survivors (people close to survivors also impacted by their trauma), and supporters are invited to create quilt squares with their stories and messages, which will be added to the Monu- ment Quilt planned for display on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This event is co-sponsored by the Weekend Life Council, SBU StandUp Charter, and the Center for Prevention and Outreach, and University Title IX Coordinator. The VIP Committee meets to consider ideas and plan strategies and events related to strengthening our community, promoting active bystander engagement, and preventing violence.
