Jason Schrumpf was born and raised in St. Louis. He graduated from the
University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Physical Therapy and com-
pleted graduate school with a Masters in Business Administration. Jason
started with Missouri Delta Medical Center in May of 2006 as Director of
Rehabilitation Services and then transitioned into role
as Director of Planning and Development in October of 2008. He
was then promoted to Vice President of Professional Services in
2009. Jason became the President & CEO of Missouri Delta Medical
Center in October 2010.
Missouri Delta Medical Center’s growth over the past year
has allowed us to expand our workforce to over 750 full time and an
additional 100 part-time employees. Missouri Delta recently added
the specialty service lines of Orthopaedic and Neurospine Surgery,
Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine and Pulmonology. We are
completely finished with the renovation of Missouri Delta’s Women’s
Imaging Center and with the generous contributions of the Founda-
tion, have added a state of the art, top rated 3D digital mammogra-
phy system. This technology will result in fewer call backs with false
positive and earlier cancer detection. We offer more than 25 differ-
ent healthcare services, including cancer and infusion care, geriatric
psychiatry, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology,
general, vascular and GI surgery, nephrology, endocrinology, internal medicine, family
practice and pain management.
Patient Satisfaction continues to be a highlight for Missouri Delta, scoring in the
95% for patient satisfaction in 2010 according to Press Ganey. The Press Ganey Data
Bank consists of over 2400 hospitals and we ranked in the top 5%. Missouri Delta main-
tained its high mark with a 93% ranking in 2011. We appreciate everyone’s support and
hope to be your local, community hospital for many more years to come!

Happy
Mother’s
Day!!
Do it Best Corp. senior officials recently announced a $30 million dollar
reinvestment in Southeast Missouri, with creation and construction of a new Retail Service
Center (RSC) in Sikeston. The newly constructed facility will replace its original location in
nearby Cape Girardeau.
Do it Best Corp. President and CEO Bob Taylor highlighted several important
factors in selecting the 103-acre site in the Sikeston Business, Education and Technology
Park for the new facility. Key factors include the proximity of the new location to Cape
Girardeau, which provides the co-op with the best opportunity to retain as many of its
current RSC team members as possible. Sikeston also offered several land options with
room for future expansion; logistical and transportation advantages; and the aggressive
and collaborative efforts from local and state officials to make the relocation cost-effective
and favorable to Do it Best Corp. member-owners.
Based in Fort Wayne, Ind., Do it Best Corp. is the only U.S.-based, member-owned
comprehensive and fully integrated hardware, lumber and building materials buying
cooperative in the home improvement industry. With annual sales of $2.41 billion, Do it
Best Corp. is the second largest co-op in the industry, serving more than 4,000 member-
owned locations in the United States and in 50 foreign countries.
Do it Best Corp. announcement follows the addition of FedEx to the Sikeston
Business, Education and Technology Park which also broke ground recently for expansion.
The 50,000 square foot facility will serve the company for small package distribution and
is expected to be in operation by Summer 2012.
We applaud and welcome these companies to the local scene and think a
reinvestment in Bootheel business is the way to “do it best!” Courtesy of Susan G. Lawrence, Mid-South Economic Development Alliance
