If you have questions about the capital campaign, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions documentation in the Narthex or on the website. Several parishioners have also asked about issues with the new construction. Through May 2018 we are in a warranty period and during this time we are working with our contractor to address any issues. If you have a question or concerns about the new facilities, please contact Dara West, [email protected], 478-923-0124.

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Let’s continue to be a welcoming parish. If you see someone you don’t know at Mass, give them a handshake and introduce yourself. After all, this is your parish, and we do not want strangers to go unwelcome. We try so hard to maintain our private space. Even on an elevator people avoid eye contact and stay within themselves. It is true, the church is a public place. But it is unlike any other kind of public place. It is a place where we meet

and welcome Christ. It is the place where The Body of Christ becomes flesh every week in the gathered assembly. Hospitality must be the hallmark of a Christian. I know many Catholics come to church and, after decades of training, wish to have their individual prayer time. Fair enough. But in the end we are part of each other, responsible for each other. Why? Because we are all part of Christ. Welcome!

Forward in Faith Prayer Heavenly Father, we thank you for all your blessings and

for what you enable us to accomplish at Sacred Heart. By your grace, may we move forward in faith, trusting

that you will supply our every need in Christ Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.

We pray through the intercession of Mary, our Mother. Amen.

“A Journey for Life”

Michelle MacKeller, Director Email: [email protected]

How can you believe all this stuff? This is the number-one question Catholics get asked and, sometimes, we ask ourselves. Why do we believe that God exists, that he became a man and came to save us, that what looks like a wafer of bread is actually his body? Join us for Faith, Food & Fellowship on Sundays during CCD as we read the book “Why We’re Catholic”. Classes are from 10:30 -11:15 during in the Social Hall,

Room 103. Books will be available for $4 at class or in the office. Whether you’re a Catholic looking to deepen your faith or you’re curious about the claims made by the Church, join us as we delve deeper in what we believe.

The next Baptism Preparation Class will be on Thursday, Dec 7, 2017 at 7:00pm. The Baptism Preparation Class is offered every other month for parents and godparents in the Church

Fellowship Room. Please read the requirements for baptizing your child. Registration is required. Please call the office to register. Child care will be provided.

Thursday Lunch & Scripture has returned! We hope you can join us for our Thursday Lunch and Scripture study on the Acts of the Apostles. Beginning September 14 from 11:30-12:30 in the Social Hall. Books are available for $15.00 in the church office.

Attention All Married Couples….

“What does it mean to be a couple? What do my vows mean today? Does marriage still matter? How can I make a good relationship even better?”

The answers to these questions and more will be answered during our Marriage Enrichment Morning event featuring celebrated writer and guest speaker Bruce Conn.

Mr. Conn is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist and is renowned for his talks on developing relationships. He is also regularly featured in the Macon Telegraph with his own

newspaper column entitled “Coupling” where he addresses relational issues.

Our event will be held in the Social Hall on Sat, Nov, 18th from 9-12 (check-in at 8:30). Mass will be at 9 am, and a light breakfast will be served at 9:30. Mr. Conn will begin his presentation at 10. We are asking for a $25 donation per couple to help offset the cost (scholarships may be available). Please register in the church office with Michelle NLT Nov 14.

Nursery will be available.

A Celebrate Recovery testimony is a personal story of struggle and victory presented by someone who has completed the CR 12 Step program. Hearing someone’s testimony lets us know that we are not alone with our burdens. This Tuesday Rhonda Neff from Southside Baptist Church will be giving her testimony. Come out and listen!

To learn more, please join us this Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the PAC cafeteria. Safe place, no mask, no judgement, complete confidentiality. Free child care provided. Bruce “Boomer” Twining 478-335-9428

Pre Cana Workshop The next Marriage Pre Cana Workshop is January 20, 2018.

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is the national anti-poverty program of the U.S. Catholic Bishops, working to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ "... to bring good news to the poor ... release to captives ... sight to the blind, and let the oppressed go free." (Luke 4:18) The belief that those who are directly affected by unjust systems and structures have the best insight into knowing how to change them is central to CCHD. CCHD works to break the cycle of poverty by helping low-income people participate in decisions that affect their lives, families and communities. CCHD offers a hand up, not a hand out. Please be generous !

¡Bienvenidos! Padre Fred
