To Do in the Jubilee Year of Mercy
“There are so many aspects of God’s mercy toward us! In the
same way, there are so many faces turned to us in order to
obtain mercy. Those who have experienced in their own lives
the Father’s mercy cannot remain indifferent before the needs
of their brothers.” — Pope Francis
We are called to meet people’s real needs with concrete
assistance.

DAILY MASS – M-F at 12:05pm
October is winding down, and the leaves are falling all around.
There is a glorious display of red and gold reflecting on the lake
and brightening up the roadways. Praise God for the beauty of His
creation on these cool, crisp mornings.
During the month of November, the Church places an emphasis on
prayers for the dead. The practice of praying for the dead is one of
the most ancient of Catholic traditions. When we commend the
souls of our relatives and friends to the mercy of God, our prayers
are works of both charity and faith. In addition to helping the
suffering of souls, those prayers gain for us grace for our own
salvation and an easing of our earthly sorrow for our departed
loved ones. Those prayers remind us of what is truly important in
our loves and hopefully help us to live better lives.
Remembering our beloved dead is a truly spiritual; exercise – a
melancholy moment, but a hopeful and prayerful one too. Before
All Souls’ Day, November 2, please turn in the All Souls’ Day
envelopes found in your church support envelopes or in the pews.
A donation for the All Souls’ Day Mass is not required. The names
you list will be placed on our altar and remembered throughout
the month of November.
