The archdiocese of Baltimore has begun phase I of reopening. Phase I, consists of re-opening the churches for personal prayer and adoration. Only masses for Weddings and Funerals are permitted with restriction. Also the celebration of the sacraments of baptism, weddings, anointing of the sick may be conferred. The number of individuals present at Mass, including liturgical ministers, does not exceed the State’s restriction (currently 10-person maximum) on the number of people able to be gathered. I invite all the faithful to visit the website of the AOB www.archbalt.org or the Face-book of our pastoring to orient themselves on the preparation of how to come to the Church. In the pastorate we will also be highlighting some measures recommended by the AOB to prepare us again when the Holy Mass resumes. I also want to remind you that daily and Sunday Masses will continue to be held without the presence of the faithful during Phase 1. Archbishop Lori has extended his dispensation of the faithful from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. Par-ishes will continue to make Masses available to the faithful through such means as internet livestream or recording, tele-vision, and radio, thereby ensuring that the faithful may maintain a spiritual connection with their local church. On Fa-cebook you may check a video that is to prepare us for what to expect when public Masses resume (Phase II).

PASTOR’S MESSAGE

LITURGY CORNER

Praying the Rosary Familiarize yourself and/or your group with the prayers of the rosary. 1. Make the Sign of the Cross. 2. Holding the Crucifix, say the Apostles' Creed. 3. On the first bead, say an Our Father. 4. Say one Hail Mary on each of the next three beads. 5. Say the Glory Be 6. For each of the five decades, announce the Mystery (perhaps followed by a brief reading from Scripture) then say the Our Father. 7. While fingering each of the ten beads of the decade, next say ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Mystery. Then say a Glory Be. (After finishing each decade, some say the following prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima: O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy.) 8. After saying the five decades, say the Hail, Holy Queen, followed by this dialogue and prayer: V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray: O God, whose Only Begotten Son, by his life, Death, and Resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Vir-gin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. (A prayer to St. Joseph may also follow.) Conclude the Rosary with the Sign of the Cross. (taken from the USCCB web site)

Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

Our Gratitude

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Moth-er of the Americas. We fly to you today as your be-loved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick and cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
