FROM THE DESK OF FATHER JEFF: On behalf of the parish I would like to wish all the fathers a very Happy Father’s Day! I would like to thank Judy Phillips for planting the lovely flowers in front of and around the Church in memory of her mother-in-law, Nancy Phillips, our former sacristan and a very nice person. The flowers were donated by Dot Halsey of Halsey Farm and Nursery on Deerfield Road in Water Mill. She donates the flowers every year. This weekend we start our $10,000 Summer Raffle. Buy a chance and help the parish. Two hundred tickets will be sold at $100 apiece. The chances will be sold after the Masses today. This is one of our major fundraisers. The drawing will be held August 28th at the Parish Barbeque. Congratulations to all of our eighth graders who graduated from Our Lady of the Hamptons last Friday night. A belated welcome to everyone who is visiting for the summer. It’s a wonderful place to spend a vacation. Just a reminder. On November 27 of this year, the Third Edition of the Roman Missal will be introduced in all Roman Catholic Churches in America. There will be some changes for the laity, and a lot of changes for the clergy. In the fall we will have training sessions here to familiarize everyone with the changes. I am going to order booklets for each parishioner to bring home to read. Do not get nervous. There aren’t that many changes for you.

REMINDER: REGISTRATION FORMS HAVE BEEN MAILED

PLEASE RETURN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE NEXT YEAR’S CLASSES ARE BEING FORMED.

Parents of children who will be entering first grade in September: If your child is entering the first grade and you want him/her to receive the sacraments in the parish, it is time to register them for the Religious Education Program if they are not attending Our Lady of the Hamptons or some other Catholic School. Religious Education Registration forms are now available on the parish website: www.sacredheartsofjesusandmary.org. Please remember that children are required to attend each year from first to eighth grades, in order to be prepared for the receiving of Confirmation in the eighth grade. Also attendance each week is a must unless the child is sick or has a good reason for missing a class. Please encourage the school and coaches not to schedule games or practices on Wednesday afternoon or evening or Sunday mornings. It is up to all of us to encourage the importance of Religious Education in our community. Please check the website for meetings and Announcements. FEAST OF FAITH

Liturgy and the Holy Trinity The Trinity is the central mystery of our faith. We believe that God is one, yet three: total unity and rich

diversity. God is not a monolith, but a dynamic community of persons, a perfect, loving harmony of three. And the liturgy is the work of the Trinity. We begin all our liturgical celebrations with the sign of the cross, a reminder of our Trinitarian baptism, and the simplest of all professions of our faith. We believe that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and we gather in the name of this triune God. Throughout the Mass, we address our prayers to God the Father, through Christ our Lord, in the Spirit’s power. And the Father hears our prayer, transforming bread and wine into the Body and Blood of his Son by the Holy Spirit. The Church is “the sacrament of trinitarian communion” (Sacramentum Caritatis, 16). It is the Trinity who holds us together as well. In the words of Saint Cyprian, we are “a people made one by the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” (quoted in Sacramentum Caritatis, 16). —Corinna Laughlin, © Copyright, J. S. Father’s Day Blessing and Prayer

O God, We thank you for these men

Men who have taken on the impossible task of following in Your footsteps We thank you for their courage and strength

And our prayer is that as they learn what it means to be a father

That You would Father them, and apprentice them We pray that you would teach them how to be good fathers

no matter how old or young their children are.

Give them hearts like your heart That they may become known for

Compassion, tenderness, and mercy. May they live lives full of love and grace.

May they not be afraid to discipline And may they lead their families with great wisdom and gentleness

Anoint them to be warriors in Your kingdom

To wage war for their families in prayer To be defenders and guardians of all that is true and good

Make them aware of the spiritual battle that You call them to engage in

Fathers, we honour you in your God given duty May you walk free from the lies of the world

That say a father is not important

For we say that you are important You are to be a light in darkness A living example of God Himself

We bless you to be strong and courageous

To wear the full armour of God To resist the devil, and to stand

Stand firm for your wives and children Stand firm for the body of Christ

We bless you to go out and do great deeds for the kingdom of God

To become oaks of righteousness To rise to the fullness of Christ

And to run hard the race that has been marked for you

We claim this blessing for you That you would be counted righteous in this life

That by the grace of God you would be blameless And that in so doing your children would be blessed

What you do in life echoes in eternity. O God bless these men

And may their echoes be loud and full and pleasing in Your sight throughout all ages. Amen

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION

For the past two years the Spanish

Procession on the Church grounds

after the 12:30 PM Mass. Volunteers

had set up altars representing their

the Blessed Sacrament was carried

ends with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in

the Church.

This year we would like to invite all members of the

KID’S PAGE Prayers and history of the Church

______________________ June 19, 2011 In our readings this year we have seen how God the Father, out of his great love for us, sent his Son, and how Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to help and guide us. Last week, we read how this promise was fulfilled. Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Holy Trinity, the great mystery of the unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Their love is the source of our love for one another. Gospel John 3:16-18

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John

Jesus said, :for God so loved the world that he have his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” “Indeed, God did not sent the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Those who believe in him are not condemned, but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” The Gospel of the Lord. For Reflection:How do you know that God loves you? Prayer: Most holy God, How can we understand the mystery of your great love that binds Father, Son and Holy Spirit? On this holy day, we ask that you open our hearts to receive this love. Make us one with you as you are one. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

______________________ Today is FATHER’S DAY! Father’s are special and today is the day to show him how much you love and appreciate all he does for you.

Here is a poem for you to give to your dad to say HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!

I’m Happy You’re My Dad

I feel safe when you are with me; You show me fun things to do; You make my life much better; The best father I know is you.

I’m happy you’re my Dad And so I want to say

I love you, Dad, and wish you A Happy Father’s Day!

The Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity

"The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the

Christian faith and of Christian life. God alone can make it known to

us by revealing Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

"The Incarnation of God's Son reveals that God is the eternal Father

and that the Son is consubstantial with the Father, which means that,

in the Father and with the Father, the Son is one and the same God.

"The mission of the Holy Spirit, sent by the Father in the name of the

Son (John 14:26) and by the Son: from the Father (John 15:26),

reveals that, with them, the Spirit is one and the same God. "With the

Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified" (Nicene Creed).

"Inseparable in what they are, the Divine Persons are also inseparable

in what they do. But within the single divine operation each shows

forth what is proper to Him in the Trinity, especially in the divine

missions of the Son's Incarnation and the gift of the Holy Spirit." -- Catechism of the Catholic Church §§ 261, 262, 263, 267
