Song of Praise
Christ Is Risen
Matt Maher
Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
We fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely You've bled for us
REFRAIN:
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
2x’s
Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but Heaven's will
No scheme of Hell, no scoffer's crown
No burden great can hold You down
In strength You reign
Forever let Your church proclaim
us, Alleluia, alleluiu, a1 - ll.‘ - lulu!
REFRAIN
0 death, where is your sting?
0 hell, where is your victory?
0 church, come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night
Sing it, 0 death, where is your sting?
0 hell, where is your victory?
0 church, come stand in the light
Our God is not dead, He's alive, He's
alive
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Opening Prayer
Reading
Gospel
C: Glory to you, 0 Lord.
The Gospel of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
Reflection:
After the Reflection, there is silence. You may use this time: To be still; to contemplate
what you just heard or seen; to rest; or to pray.
Hymn of the Day
TE DEUM (in place of the Apostle’s creed)
p We long for you O God,
we confess our deep desire; for the heavens are arrayed with your unhidden
beauty, and the entire earth surrenders to your touch.
The powers of everlasting light cry aloud to you;
Saints in every generation speak of your glory; those who have seen and
proclaimed you are passionate with praise; those who have cried for
justice are satisfied with mercy; those who carried you in their wounds
are bodied forth with life. Your holy and stumbling church throughout the
entire world is filled with your desire.
Merciful creator of an infinite tenderness; wounded redeemer, by whom all
flesh is moved; comforter of fire, who leads us into truth; God is difficult
and beautiful, we offer you our praise.
You are the source of our yearning, 0 Christ: you are the way of glory.
Bearing our sweet and humble flesh, fruit of a woman’s womb, you were
made and molded, as we are, by human particular touch. Breaking forth
from the tomb you opened wide our hearts, turning the sharpness of
death to the terror of new life and of desire fulfilled.
The Prayers of the People and Via Sacra
The presider begins a time of prayer by inviting the people to offer spontaneous prayer,
either silently or aloud. During this informal time you are welcome to come forward and
light a candle at the stand or visit one of the prayer stations around the church.
The Great Thanksgiving
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.
