When should we use the RUVB process to create a native database view and when should we use Safari Administrator to create a Safari

view?

Previously known as SureView, the Reporting Utilities module’s focus is to assist Datatel Clients in the translation of data from Colleague into distributed information for SQL-based reporting, including ODBC access.

RU FunctionsSet up parameters and dictionaries for UniData SQL-based reporting.

Load table and view definitions, including all relevant metadata, to the Safari dictionary.

Specify and generate database SQL Views. ?• Optionally create new files as snapshots of data at

a point in time, based on View specifications. • Other utilities to support using read-only SQL-

based products to retrieve data from your UniData database.
